[Query] Upgrade Axis Flipkart with Ace

If I want to upgrade Axis Flipkart with Ace via customer support (assuming it's possible), then will the same credit account in CIBIL that was for Flipkart be replaced with Ace, or will they first close that credit account and then create a new one ?

Also, another question, since now Citi cards are owned by Axis, will the same Axis discount offers on various merchants be available to Citi cards too ?

Want to get rid of Axis Flipkart as I don't use it, except for the offline 1.5% occasionally, and simply not possible to get to the new fee waiver limit, hence planning to either get it replaced with Ace as it gives 2% offline with lesser fee waiver limit, or just close it as I already have Citi cards which can serve the purpose of Axis bank discounts (if possible).

1.While upgrading your credit card via customer support they simple merge your existing credit card limit with the one ones. And they will not close your existing credit card (unless you told them to do so) . And in in CIBIL report there will be  a new credit card and the merged limit you got shows there.

Hmmm... so there will be a new credit card in CIBIL, means that the existing credit account will be closed and a new one will be created, so not exactly a upgrade/replace... Thanks

You will get new credit card but they won't close the existing card. So both are active. In CIBIL also, you will have 2 active credit card accounts. Yes, it's not an upgrade/replace, they will just give another credit card without going through regular application/verification process.

But I heard that, from last few months Axis bank stopped upgrading credit cards over the call because of RBI guidelines.

Did you try? Did it work?

I simply got my Axis Flipkart credit card closed, as for my use case, there wasn't any benefit I was deriving from this card. As for Axis Ace CC, I realized I already have other cards which more or less gives similar benefit, so didn't apply for it.
