RBI asks HDFC Bank to stop digital activities, sourcing new credit card customers

HDFC Bank said the RBI order “has advised the bank to temporarily stop all launches of the digital business-generating activities planned under its program Digital 2.0 and other proposed business generating IT applications and sourcing of new credit card customers”.
“RBI has issued an order dated December 2, 2020, to HDFC Bank Ltd with regard to certain incidents of outages in the internet banking/ mobile banking/ payment utilities of the bank over the past two years, including the recent outages in the bank’s internet banking and payment system on November 21, 2020, due to a power failure in the primary data centre,” HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing.

More interesting was SBI cards which moved up 5%😇
hope this time they can solve their famous problems of tracking of rewards in CC as till now we have to guess that for which transactions we are getting miracle rewarding cashback
There are much more serious issues it need to solve than introducing this new feature to the customers

Why No Action against SBI? Unable to Do any UPI Transaction since 1 Dec.Now Even Netbanking is not working. Every 15 days they have 2-3 days downtime.
Because they know the laid back attitude of SBI. No matter how much they are penalized, final results will be the same.

Why RBI does not take action against SBI. System outage every day in name of system maintenence. Yono app is not opening neither UPI working.
As per recent reports…
SBI online transaction is still just 50% if their total transactions …for HDFC it was around 95%..hence RBI was more consern about HDFC when they had issues with online transfers /Payments ….RBI Governor told in a meet..
No new cards being issued, how about upgrading existing card?
