Exchange of Rs 2000 banknotes into banknotes of other denominations can be made upto a limit of Rs 20,000 at a time at any bank starting from May 23, 2023, says RBI
All banks shall provide deposit and/or exchange facility for Rs 2000 banknotes until September 30, 2023: RBI

I have a few 500 and 1000 notes, and I know of so many who have been left with these notes.
Nice try it dept
Who says not valid or valid only in the bank? It is still a legal tender but has to be deposited / exchanged by September 2023. This is not demonetisation. It is because the majority of the '2000 denomination notes were issued prior to March 2017 and are at the end of their estimated life-span of 4-5 years. In pursuance of the "Clean Note Policy" of the Reserve Bank of India, it has been decided to withdraw the '2000 denomination banknotes from circulation.
Good decision
It was the hardest note to purchase goods in the market...no one had the change for this note for a smaller amount product
They might bring even bigger note like 3000/5000 so that buying voters will be easy just like how they did for 2017 UP elections. MASTERSTROKE
Note : Only Assumption
Nice move

This pink 2k guy died too early shortest life span note btw I already got rid from these notes long ago

Karanataka election ke gam me. 😉
RBI had stopped the printing of ₹2,000 banknotes in 2018-2019 itself. So notes printed only for 1-1.5 years. All high cost printing machinery lying idle and tax payers money wasted.
Banking system kabhi bandh ni karegi sarkaar ....
Just learn few things
How this banking system is used for fraud ,
What is fiat currency , can we print this with or without gold or unlimited printing ....
Govt. Will never decentralise it's power ...
They banned and put strict orders on digital currency and now they are ready with there rupay digital currency ..
Can anyone help me what govt. Is trying to do ...
Earlier alsodemonetisation was failure ..
What will happen with this move by govt ...
What's the intention of government in taking this step

Bahut demand rehta hai 2000₹ notes ka Banks mein. Factory waale khade rehte hein teller cabin ki side mein, jaise hi koi deposit karta hai 2000₹ ka note fatt se teller ko side mein rakhne ko bolte hein. 7-8 lakhs rs ke bundle banwa ke lete hein woh bhi bina gine.

It is indeed a very good step but taken very late.
It seems that inbuilt Chip of ₹2000 notes didn't work.
All black money's in 2k note now they would exchange it for 500 note (they did same last time also 99% money returned to bank for a reason) which will indirectly cost rbi more to print those, already rbi lost thousands of crores printing new notes, now they have to print more 500 note
cash circulation is at highest already
