I had lowered my online limit through transaction controls in App and the card limit got revised to that amount, first time seeing any bank doing this, for all my cards I control the limit and only change while making big transactions.
ICICI also does a similar thing: When you lower the credit limit, it gets updated in CIBIL too. However, it gives you the flexibility to increase as and when needed. But for RBL I guess they permanently lower it XD

in case ICICI if you change the Credit Limit via 'Manage Credit Limit' then yes it does reflect in CIBIL since we are updating the credit limit itself, but to control transaction limit there is another option via Set Per-Transaction Limit where you can individually control the limit for categories like merchant, online, tap and pay and ATM.
Both of these controls are different and serve it's intended purpose but what RBL did is a idiotic thing where they took the limit from transaction controls and updated that as the main card limit, which kills the purpose for what it is build for, 😔

If I am not wrong, RBL not updating to cibil on the basis of per transaction limit. At least not for me, its on the basis of total limit.

bro, you didn't get my point I didn't say RBL reports the transaction limit to cibil

What RBL did in my case was it took my limit set for online transaction and then it updated that as my overall credit limit, say previously my online transaction limit was set to 10k while my overall credit limit was 200k, then RBL updated my overall credit limit as well to 10k , this is what happened in my case otherwise it could be just  a coincidence and they purposely cut down my overall credit limit based on low usage.

Hopefully not, it was just 1.7% of overall credit

Then no noticeable impact but why your card still not converted to shoprite.
