Why is it recommended to wait for 28 days or more to get vaccinated after recovering from Covid-19. Now govt has increased this to 90 days

What will happen if someone whose report came positive & was asymptomatic takes vaccine immediately after a week of getting negative report?

Reason: Vaccine contains virus which may grow to full Covid infection if recovered individual immunity power is low

The vaccine vaccine doesn’t contain the whole virus, it just contains the viral particles and that’s not the reason why it’s recommended to take the vaccine after 28 days. After a prolonged infection, the body could be weak, thus introducing more viral particles can cause extra stress on the immune system plus a weakened immune response against the vaccine may not produce adequate response, thus decreasing its effect. That’s why it’s best to take the vaccine about after 28 days of testing negative.

Because you immune system is already active against the virus. You don’t want your natural antibodies to start interfering with the vaccine. You want the vaccine to create an alternate defence mechanism.

In short, having two army is better than having one army. Who knows what kind of enemy(virus) you’ll encounter in the future?

It is just like revision before exam gets better results.

Remember, both doses of bharat biotech or AstraZeneca are exactly same.

Govt guidelines are intended to optimize the consumption of vaccine, whose availability is restricted.

The natural antibodies developed in an infected person can provide him immunity from Covid for several days. So Govt feels vaccine should be first given to those who are not yet infected so far and don’t have natural immunity.

As days pass, vaccine availability will increase, then the recovered persons can take it as well.

Doctors have not given any scientific reason for a compulsory delay in vaccination for recovered patients.

However I believe the natural antibodies created in recovered patients are likely to get consumed in fighting with the weakened/dead virus injected in the form of vaccine, rather than creating new antibodies. So it may be better for recovered patients to conserve their natural antibodies created by fighting against a live Covid virus (which are more effective than antibodies created by an artificial vaccine), as long as possible. Ideally they should take an antibodies test before taking the vaccine.
