So my Axis cc application was rejected and it seems like the ombudsman forwarded my requests to the Principal Nodal officer who seems to be providing me the same generic reply of “internal policy”
I thought raising a complaint on RBI website means they will step in. When do they actually step in? Because axis seems to be holding it’s ground and doesn’t wanna state the reason for rejection.

For me they did reply after raising complaint with ombudsman and told me that there were already other application in progress. I got 2-3 calls from axis and mail as well.

Yes but will RBI do anything about my complain of this is it?
Did u go level 1>level 2>level 3 then rbi or directly approached rbi?

Went via lvl 1 2 and not sure abt 3?
I spoke with them then raised a req on email where i got the same internal bs response. I wrote to nodal officer and same response and then I wrote to rbi.
I just want to know what this internal policy is ffs

I don’t mind the rejection. I want to know the actual reason as per new rbi guildelines.
How will rbi intervene in this after my current complaint?
because principal nodal seems to have mentioned my complain no from ombudsman portal so I’m sure they got back to me because of them but i still havent gotten a valid reason

Not sure then, to me they gave a reason not the usual internal policy reason

That's what banks say always "internal policy" & can't reveal as if it's a top most business secret. If you push them further , they say some random things like address or name or mobile mismatch but won't give it in writing. Happened with me in case of kotak when they themselves called me & assured it's pre approved and made me apply & rejected. I complaint to rbi but the mistake I did was raised dispute within 30 days so rbi rejected it. But kotak nodal office did call me thrice & played the same old music of "internal policy" & also had the audacity to say that there is no such rbi rule to mention reason of rejection. I didn't drag further for my peace of mind.
I raised the complaint within 30 days as well. So mine will probably be rejected as well i guess

My Axis CC was rejected for two times, despite having a cibil of 778. No documents were taken as a Income proof, no statement. It is just rejected. I given a last try on SEP 14, still no update. I assume it will also get rejected for no reason, despite the axis employee assured that "bhai apka card pakka milega, reject hua to ap mere se bat kro main cc to cc apply krwa dunga. aap wait kr lo, reject nhi hoga."
This was the third and last try to get axis card. If rejected, will never apply again.
MY HDFC CC was approved without any CIBIL check.
I had high hopes on RBI ombudsman but after they failed to reverse a SBI double transaction and never bothered to listen to call records and other evidences I had.. I knew they're as shitty as amazon/flipkart/tatacliq/swiggy customer care representatives.

I am in the same boat. Reached PNO after complaining to Level 1 and Level 2. Waited for 30 days and raised a complaint with RBI Ombudsman.
Just after 2 days, Axis guys called me and told me that rejection is due to 'policy'. I asked them about the policy and the guy on the call mentioned that it's 'mismatch of information'. I asked him specifically which information and he was clueless. I told him get me the reason and call later.
It has been 20 days after that. No intervention from RBI and my application status is still the same.
Nobody has idea about 'internal policy'. I am assuming that my rejection is due to holding multiple Credit Cards.
