I am from science background, not well versed with accounting terminology but i do my own accounts in a book with proper account monthly, ledger and balance sheet for financial year.

Doing this manually is becoming tedious as transactions grew over the years leading to human errors.

Can someone suggest a simple free software that can help me get the above done?

I never said anything about the cracked version, though it is available online.
OP should try the demo version first.

I want something that can give me a ledger account and balance sheet as well.

Actually it gives both smile
When you define your different account clicking on that account gives you the ledger for that particular account

Tally is not free…..

Older versions can be obtained free. You do not need ERP version for basic accounting.
I am maintaining my own accounts on Tally 7.2 for last 10 years (Linux machine through WINE). All financial transaction data of last 10 years available instantly.
However, it does require basic accounting knowledge.

When you actually receive the money, you credit that person and not debit him.

Any web based accounting software that is free is a risk. You never khow when they will make it paid. Worst still, they can fold business.

Agreed. Never thot of that. Then Gnucash seems like the only option?

Imp point. Noted.

For now have started using gnucash, it seems to have good documentation and few you tube videos as well for me to start.

Thanks.

If you have GST number, Govt provides many known accounting software free of cost.

Hmm I am not sure as I haven’t used it explicitly..  usually you have a print button at the top.. can’t find it?

Also, check the export to PDF option if print is not working?
