In January, Someone sent me a smartphone (MRP 25K) from Ghaziabaad to my village in Rajasthan via India post inland speed post.
When I opened the phone at home, I found out that the handset was stolen from the box. Charger is there.
The speed post slip on the box has weight mentioned 460g, it means the handset has been stole after the person handed it over to the post office at Ghaziabad to postman handing it to me.
Also, I have video recorded the box opening as its in my habit to record every unboxing.

Any other possibility ?

Now, I have the box with IMEI numbers.

So, how can I file an e-FIR and how can I recover it back ?

What I did till now :
(1) Tried to file an e-FIR

I think , we can’t send valuables like gold / cash / mobiles etc thru speed post i.e personal parcels .

Always send such gadgets and valuables through reputed private couriers and with insurance done of the item to be sent. Have sent mobiles twice without any issue in the past.
Although it will cost you more than speed post.

Even though you file a report in PS, chances of recover the stolen phone is slim. Police don’t give much importance of zero FIR, especially in case of stolen stuffs.
Next time always tell the sender to ship with reputable querier company with insurance in case of high valuable goods.
