Booked ticket for 6th May. Was going in a wedding. But wedding is cancelled. Now in dilemma what to do? No cancellation option in GoAir. Flipkart is saying if you will cancel it will attract cancellation fee. Don’t know if they will be operating also.

Better wait instead of cancelling it.
High chances that flight will get cancelled as flight operation will in resume in full.

Aviation Ministry asks airlines to refund tickets. But there is a catch

In a relief to some fliers, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has asked airlines to refund tickets that were booked between March 25 and April 14, for travel during the lockdown.
In a communication to the airlines on April 16, the ministry said the airlines should refund tickets, both domestic and international travel, without levying any cancellation charges.
So if a passenger has booked a ticket on any day between March 25 to April 14, for travel between April 15 to Pay 3, his or her ticket will be refunded on request.
But the wording of the statement, may have left some room of respite for the airlines.

They are not cancelling for anyone. Providing credit note for future travel with nonsense conditions and keeping the money with them without any interest.
No option than to wait.

Those making these guidelines does not seem to use their brains. Which sane person would have booked ticket in lockdown period to travel between lockdown period knowing airlines are not operating.

They use a lot of brain to make sure people think they are doing something about such a big issue but at the same time helping the capitalists.

Cheap tricks by both, airlines locking the money without interest to somewhat compensate for the loss of this period. Then increasing fares and recover more money with the difference in fares.

This is happening in western countries too.. all 3 parties are to be blamed.. the airline for accepting booking when they don’t know when they will resume operation. The customer for booking the ticket knowing the current situation and crying wolf. And the ministry for not enforcing strict guidelines so that no new bookings is done. Even in EU, airline can provide credit but they have given a option to ask for cash instead. Usa only credit allowed it is in their rules.
