What is your personal experience in buying refurbished items online? Do you think they are a steal or you got looted instead?

Asked because I want to save some money as well smile

If you can afford to buy new, always buy new.

Personal experience?

domestic helps (in various locations) (much before corona and in recent months) got such great deals from their employers, who were relocating within or outside India.
Ditto for few people (whom we know) who bought idling vehicles directly from owners.
online (or offline stores of Tata group) and electronic can be a hit snd miss though.
Within India, makes little sense to buy ‘FMCG’ electronics if they are returned or box opened pieces.
on Ebay dot com (or even Amazon North America site) one could still get a fair deal on preowned electronics. there has to be ‘value’ (price should be sufficiently marked down if tech or new launches make the ‘on sale’ product obsolete soon)
