Diners have acceptability issue if you are outside tier 1 cities.
With diners i have to carry another card always as it gets rejected half of the time in my city.

-seeing the way they are getting less used they might bring about offer soon so better to keep one handy also its good to have alternative where u never knows what get hacked

Airport lounge access decided by HDFC bank.
Nothing special, he is talking about mastercard usa.
Mastercard also anti-India company. Better to avoid or mastercard should be banned in India.
@SnippierJoker No acceptability issue on Diners club card, Diners use RuPay card network in India. Many user use Diners club card in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, accept almost all places.

SnippierJoker wrote:Yes because Diners club charge 3% MDR.
I have huge acceptability issue with it in my tier 3 city.
Petrol pump using paytm pos never works for me it just shows as institute not found, some medical shops use some slim type third party pos machine which never works.
Tap to pay does never work even in hdfc pos.( tried again today)
Reliance trends I specifically have to ask them that I am using diners card and they then bring a separate pos machine for it.
Subway does not work.
HP petrol pump did not work.
Raymond's shop did not work.
Only machines that seems to accept consistently are hdfc and sbi.
I am using it for 4 months now and 40% of times it is rejected with institute not found.
abhishek012 wrote:Yepp maybe.
Yes because Diners club charge 3% MDR.
Diners club work on RuPay card network but charges is 3% MDR that's why many merchants disabled Diners club acceptance.

Former Mastercard CEO, CTO, Mastercard Asia & Africa Head, Mastercard India head etc those people tweeting, retweet about CAA.
Former Mastercard CEO was saying in an interview that data localization is not good for Indians, The govt is not properly communicating what it wants by localizing the data. If such educated people talk about uneducated class type, then people will feel that this person must be speaking right. Govt clealr ymentioned want Indian govt wants from data localization and data localization is nothing new. Since when is data localization in China, Russia, EU, Mastercard said anything. In the comments of that interview video slogans like 'Modi Hatao Desh Bachao' were also started.
When mastercard was banned, next day mastercard has launched a whole wave of boycott RuPay card hashtag on twitter, including the Indian govt. I saw thousands of tweets boycotting RuPay cards within an hour and support Mastercards. All was copy paste tweets.
And everyone remember Mastercard's complaint to the US government in 2018. Do you know china already banned mastercard but Mastercard has not complained against China till date, I'm always reading credit card news from around the world. I have not read any complaint against China till date
Visa card is also American company. But Visa card don't start such propaganda against any country. 2 years ago such news came that VISA card has complained to US Govt regarding RuPay card, but guess what ? after 3-4 days visa card apologized to whole India. Visa Card told that we are facing competition from local companies not only from India but also from all over the world.
Visa credit card have 70%+ market share in India. "NPCI CEO also said, the influence of VISA card is very high in India".
Personally, I believe Visa Card cares more about their business rather than interfering in the internal affairs of our country.

from consumer point of view i only see offer , u want me to use something bring more offer , rupay is indian so it sud give more offer to indian customer
When we spend more on foreign companies, we lose more foreign reserve and when we lose more foreign reserve, govt increase all types of taxes and when the govt increases taxes, everyone from the poor to the middle class gets affected.
I read many article and youtube videos, other Asian countries like japan, south korea, thailand, Indonesia etc, they love their local companies. Almost all east asian countries and southeast asian countries like to purchase from their local companies. They told we don't care if by paying more money to our local companies, ultimately it will help us to lead a better life for us and our country.
This is the only thought that we Indians have to keep in our mind.
Last thing, i support globalization but globalization doesn't mean you give 100% access to a foreign company. Like your favourite Vodafone works with Idea celluar, VI share holders are - Government of India (32.09%) Vodafone (31.27%) Aditya Birla Group (17.49%) Private Equity (15.97%) American Tower Corporation(3.18%).
Another example - Hindustan Unilever.
I want visa/mastercard should work with RuPay, same like JCB and Discover global card work in India. RBI should cancel Visa/mastercard India license (This is nothing new, China already done it and that time USA said we respect China's sovereignty).
USA will never give 100% access to our India's RuPay card but USA will happily welcome, if RuPay enter into American market partnership with Discover global network. China's UnionPay card and Japan's JCB card already work in a similar way in the US market.
Before i finish, you guys can think, what will happen to the competition ? if every card companies work with RuPay card network ? then competition will over, right ? No, never. This is not the end, this is the beginning. Since, only 1 Indian company RuPay will exist. RBI and banks will decide to create more Indian credit card network companies. America have total 4 or 5 credit card network companies and we Indians have only 1. American people choose which card network they want to use but the interesting fact is that all are US companies. I want more Indian credit card companies, I want we Indian people to choose which Indian credit card network companies we want to use. RuPay card or any other Indian credit card network like 'Hindustan card' or 'Bharat card' etc and in that we have to choose whether to take co-branded RuPay-visa card or Hindustan card-co-branded mastercard.
This would be true globalization and true competition and i didn't say anything imaginary because this is how it works in America.

I verified & you're correct, since nov 4 2017 in a mutual agreement by NPCI diners got access to rupay POS in domestic txns & rupay got access to diners in international pos txns.
So network wise there shouldn't have been issues but due to high diners mdr several merchants refuse it.
