Flipkart has shipped my Ac through delhivery courier, and it was showing open box delivery during checkout, so how will open box delivery work for third party couriers, as in case of ekart we used to get otp on flipkart app,will they also open the product in front of me??
for AC they wont open. coz service technician from brand must open the box in order to verify defects. if opened before his visit then they might deny any damages.

In case of SSN Logistics [Delhivery), ATSPL.. the system is mostly to favour the delivery associate.
In place of signature or notes... they will scribble 'OBD'.

This discharged them from any liability, if the customer accepts the package.

Obviously for white goods, heavy appliances... it is not the same.
Customer does have some rights, even after accepting delivery.

Not sure about Flipkart's handling of 'out for delivery' via non EKL partners.
But Delhivery themselves would send messages to the phone number mentioned in the shipping address.
If the number is not a landline number or if it can receive OTPs, then one can even directly on to the Delhivery website, using that number as the credential.

You would receive the login OTP from Delhivery.
Thereafter you can raise tokens/tickets for everything from alternate contact number, address update/ deliver to neighbour .... to rescheduling requests, complaints about anything.

If local hub related complaint/ticket is raised then the e-mail is sent to that hub too.
And within few hours or (if complaint raised after 2100 hours then) next day.. the Team Leader/ Operations in-charge of the nearest hum would themselves call you too.

On Delhivery site, always do add your e-mail (ANY address) too, as they do send automated replies to e-mail.
If it's OBD, you will get the OBD. Don't worry about it. They will allow you to check everything.
My haier refrigerator came with open box delivery from flipkart , they opened the box. Clicked some photos checked for dents then asked for otp and left. Same day haier installation guy came later that day asked where to set then clicked serial number photo gave insight which function do what and left end of story

For mobiles obd you need to sjare last 4 digit of mobno first then all checks happen and delivery person will click photos also then if everything okay then share otp

Ekart delivery persons can't ask otp before photos as i wanted pack box in obd order but they don't give🤣🤣

No bro they do open and show that there's no damage and all parts given inside. The delivery boy has to take product pictures and add in their app while updating delivered info.
As long as there's no damage during delivery, the installation guy will have no issue.
I had few such deliveries over past few months (TV & washing machine) with Open box delivery. Installation person nowadays knows about this open box delivery and doesn't create any issues.
@5122001766 just let the delivery boy show you that the product is not damaged, you should be fine. Do check well for any damages .

Oh ok. But it will be mentioned on the box that only installation executive should open it in order to claim defects. (Seen this before this open box concept) dont know now

Same here. That’s why I am more surprised to see instances where orders with OBD are being not opened.
