Regarding Induction Cooktop

We have this Prestige PIC 1.0 V2 model bought 5 to 6 years ago, it is constantly giving problems now. Had 3 services in past 2 years, paid over 1000 behind servicing but it’s again stopped working. The repairman keeps saying the new models are not as good as the old ones in terms of build quality and all and that worries me. I wish to purchase a new one but I’m concerned about longevity (if that’s a thing anymore). Should i just buy a cheap one or stick with premium brands like Prestige/ Philips/ V Guard etc.?

Anyone here using induction cooktop which has not produced a problem in long term (i.e. more than 2 to 3 years) please mention the make and model. Wish to purchase in the upcoming sale.

Hoe to extend or purchase warranty. Whether additional 1 year will be a home service

Been using this one since 4 years; never had a single issue:
https://www.amazon.in/Prestige-PIC-6-1-V3-2000-...
but again, note that there’s quite bad reviews in amazon, dunno maybe I just happened to be lucky to get a good piece, while other’s got a defective piece… usage-wise I had used it quite roughly with no issues at all…

Understood. Yes, it’s dependant on luck for sure but still i don’t understand how a model explodes! That’s just beyond ridiculous. That model you mention, pic 6.1 v3 and the model here: https://www.flipkart.com/prestige-pic-16-0-plus...

Well what’s the main difference between these? Like i don’t give the slightest damn about looks or touch control but is the higher model having better coil or igbt or something?

Oh I guess i fall in the same category of people who create a topic and forget about it when done with it. Anyway, I purchased the Borosil tc25 model back in January from Amazon. Later I found out that on borosil’s own site it was sold cheaper. lol

My experience is as below
Bought 2 Bajaj induction in 2011 . 1 Failed after 5 years, repaired from authorized service center lasted only 6 months. Other is still working fine.
Pigeon induction bought in 2015 still working with normal issue’s which i repair as DIY.
Overall i am happy with pigeon as it’s price is low compared to others.

So, those of you who use induction, is it your only source of cooking or do you keep gas stoves as well

Of course gas stove is a must and mainly used. Induction is only good for heating water, milk, making tea etc. I know nothing about cooking but mum tried to do some cooking with induction and said everything burns, as the heat is spread differently. So she never uses it except for the said purposes.
