Hi,
I have seen laptops like Fujitsu UH-X, LG Gram, HP Aero etc. Pray, tell me how these laptops fare in long term usage scenario. How can one buy accidental damage protection plan for Fujitsu, LG Gram? How much is the cost?
Thanks
What long term usage yph are looking here
In any case after 3-4 years, tecnology goes obsolete

I have 2.
HP envy-13 - purchased Sept 17 and still working fine. used to carry it every weekend to and fro by flight till sept 19. Mainly using at home for last 3 yrs. However, one hinge got damaged and this damaged the pasting between the lid, had to apply paste and put a insulation tape at the bottom to make sure it stays firm. its my primary laptop. but now battery backup is almost gone. I keep it at home and while on travel use a chromebook.
HP Aero - purchased in Oct 2021. used by my daughter. mostly used at home. working fine.
Also have a Dell E5430 purchased Apr 2013. changed the battery twice, replaced hdd with 500 gb ssd, increased ram to 4 gb and installed win 10. still works great but its heavy.

How is battery back up of HP aero?

Maybe am lucky (touchwood) but never had major issues with any of my laptops and I have never purchased any additional warranty as such. In the last 15 years, I've had only 4 laptops- Macbook pro, Macbook Air, LG gram (2018) & again Gram in 2021.
Only issue I faced was in Macbooks with Battery deteriorating- changed Battery in both the Macbooks; other than that just upgraded RAMs & SSDs.
Can't comment on any of the above models but being a macbook air user since 2010 and only moved to pro in 2022, I can say that these lasted really well for me. The first one I owned was a 11" macbook air, followed by 13" macbook air twice and now a 13" Macbook pro M1.
The issues I faced so far. MacBook air had a dead battery after 6 years, replaced with an aftermarket solution and a year later motherboard went dead. Apart from that, never had any sort of issues for any machines used so far.
Even if you end up spending a bit extra, ensure to get one with solid build, has well balanced specs and is good at thermal management.

How much did Gram 2021 cost and year of purchase?
Bought lg gram , bluescreen error came within 3 months and not booting at all. SSD gone. they say onsite warranty ,only washing machine, ac service center in tier 3 city. Gave it to them. They are seeing a laptop first time and are awaiting further instruction from LG since the last one month
Don't own any of these ultra-lightweight laptops (<1kg), but my gut feeling says that the thermal management on these would be inferior to the standard ones (<1.5kg). The build quality would be great since most are anyways pretty costly compared to it's standard counterpart, however the hinge is always a problem when used frequently. So unless your use case strictly involves frequent travel, air conditioned environment, delicate handling, it's better to go for the standard ones imho.

Using hp aero. Pretty light weight. Only around 1kg. Primarily using chrome telegram youtube. With battery saver on getting between 6 to 8 hour screen on time. Easy to carry around and responsive.
LG gram also seems good

Maybe for T3 City .
In Delhi CC said onsite it is and salesman said they'll do replacement as well if need..
Bsod happened randomly or after windows update or some other software installation?

No dedicated graphic card - no problem?
Big drawback is low Brightness and reflective screen. Also, had/ve issue with hinges in 2018 model wherein I've to tighten every few months else it becomes very loose.
Ooooohooo.... I am still using two laptops from 2007 and 2008!
Dell 15 inch with Windows 7 (upgraded from xp) and Compaq Presario (A900) 17 inch with original Windows Vista!
But then again... I am using my college cars from 1999 too!

LG Gram21 17 inch with i7 (11th gen) & 16Gb - got it for 99k
LG Gram18 15inch touch with i7 (8th gen) & 16gb imported from US for around 1.04 Lacs (Still in use and working fine)
I also have an LG Gram 14 (2020). Working fine since the last 2.5 years. Reg durability part it is dust proof and water resistant as all other LG Devices.
Before that I was using a 13.3 inch ASUS Zenbook from 2012, it worked for 9-10 years, later the SSD got issues (may be its life ended) and same was the case with battery. So changed.
So, in spite of the lack of cooling issues as pointed out, I believe they run for a good period of time with minimal usage. mine is almost always on with reasonable processor usage for Word, browsing and media activities.
And the weight is definitely an advantage especially during travel.

Have you noticed something... Theese Japs have stopped innovating. Earlier, all new gadgets and tech used to bear stamp of Japan.. Now they are just laid back and not really bothered.
guest_999 wrote:But then you are comparing different internal specs laptops... my reason for commenting about thermal management being inferior, was assuming both having same set of processors and running the same heavyweight applications.

Also, I am not even sure if ppl can use heavy applications for long on these ultra light laptops because of inbuilt thermal throttling limit which cannot be disabled by any means. Their thermal management is good for the kind of processor they use & that is what matters because in absolute terms there will always be something with a better thermal management system.
