During the lockdown, I have explored a lot of Tamil and Telegu movies, and after watching I am amazed. So I will be sharing all of them below, so that interested people can also enjoy it. After watching I felt Bollywood is crap and a bunch of looters without any creativity.

You can also share…

Bollywood has very good movies (if you exclude the commercial crap).. infact better than Tollywood.. the source of many bollywood remakes (recently the industry is changing towards quality content)
If its a south remake, then it goes to my exclusion list (don’t even remember when I watched the last south remake)

…its nt about remakes…its abt contents…

….Bollywood is the biggest industry….it churns out countless movies every year and the stories used in bollywood obscure movies are used in other language movies as well…so this is pointless that they copied or not…a good copy is worth it if i can understand it…

..Respect for all good moviemakers of all language…

Agree to disagree here; depends on the genre… I explicitly watch only thriller movies (accompanied with mystery/action/psychological genre), and I must say there’s very few decent thriller movies in Bollywood and nearly 90%+ is copied; and by copied I don’t mean an official remake but rather an illegal copy+paste done from foreign movies (be it holly/korean/french/spanish etc.) rolleyes Have watched countless such genre movies in different foreign language and I had only seen like a single digit movies in Bolly that were original !!!

Thrillers aren’t commercial films right? I mean, if they stay true to the genre/storyline
Talaash, Kahaani, Pink, Andhadhun, Raman Raghav 2.0, Ittefaq & many more (OTT’s have more of this kind these days)
_
Also, some do add commercial elements and do remake/freemake international films like Dil Bechara, Awarapan, Murder 2/3, Bang Bang, Tubelight, Bharat and some of them are well made and some are really bad (like Dil bechara, Tubelight)
_
It isn’t just about copy-pasting the films (Indian/International) but the kind of films they’re remaking
Ghajini, Wanted, Ready, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Rowdy Rathore, Kick, Dabanng, Jai Ho, Kabir Singh (i did watch this film though*)
^ I prefer not to watch this kind .. primarily because i might have already watched the original (Tamil/Telugu or other south language) and second, i believe these guys are very bad at it (Situation could be different if the source is an internatinal non-commercial film. I really liked “Badla” while the telugu remake was just ok)

There are few non-commercial films like Drishyam, Prassthanam (Flop) but they don’t get the attention because are low-budget and majority of bolly stars don’t prefer to act in these

Took some time to reply back (keeping it a healthy discussion wink) since needed to make sure of the sources… so here you go:
Talaash: Decently inspired by Insomnia plot.
Kahaani (watched and really loved it): This is pretty much original concept, since a lot of inspired by the writer herself… only the ending is heavily inspired by Taking Lives
Pink: Haven’t watched yet, so can’t comment; but looking at the trailer, looks pretty good; on my wishlist now, thanks (y)
Andhadhun: Just watched the trailer, and it looks like a movie (don’t remember the name, it was foreign language), where a blind witnesses a murder… something on this line… might be a different storyline though :p
Ittefaq (watched the 2017 one): Heavily inspired from Signpost to Murder; literally a ctrl+c,ctrl+v;
Badla: It’s an official remake of the Invisible Guest; m fine with this as long as due credit is given using “official remake”.
Drishyam: It’s heavily inspired from The Perfect Number, which in turn is based on the novel The devotion of suspect X.
And the list goes on…

I wasn’t trying to say that the above mentioned films are originals and that’s why I liked them.. those aren’t the commercial films & they’re well made

Its just that I avoid remakes from south films (most of them being commercial films)

Like I mentioned before, its different in the case of non-commercial international films like “Badla” .. same applies to films like talaash, kahaani (if they’re official or non-official remakes)
