While most thinking of getting new credit cards, after thoroughly analyzing my spend pattern i decided to close a few cards. I closed icici platinum ltf and add on card. Now thinking of closing hsbc ltf and idfc wealth ltf.
I will be left with two paid cards of fkaxis, airtel axis, amazon icici ltf, hdfc cashback ltf, amex gold ltf.
Should i close or just keep it as they are ltf and use it whenever i get card deactivation msg due to non usage? Around 8-12L limit in each card.
The reason is my cibil score always complain about unsecured loans from these cards, though score is just 1 short of 800.
What would be wise dimers suggestions?

are you sure if i close CC my CIBIL will be hit? I thought unsecured burden will reduce and my CIBIL actually goes up?
Please clarify if you know.
The reason for these cards is each of the platform has discounts with them at different times of year ( Thats what i closely observed and taken these cards). Now salaried or not CC gives a cushion of 45 days free loan in case of emergency was my thought.
Like some friend/relative comes and says need hand loan for medical emergency then we can give colour like though i don't have money in hand will pay the bill with CC, there by helping and later telling them to pay my CC bill as i am short of money and need to clear otherwise penalty. ( The secret is out now )
As we (friends/relatives) grow up the radius of circle diminishes and the need for handloan as we learn how to swim now
I think you shouldn't close LTF cards but you can try requesting your bank to decrease your limit to reduce your credit exposure, assuming you can still manage credit utilisation ratio under 30%. IMO IDFC wealth isn't approved easily now, they show FD cards to most of users and this card may be handy for Balance transfer (due to low APR) and Cash withdrawal in case of emergencies.
my utilization ratio of all cards is less than 1% is what CIBIL says.
I have around 55L limit with all cards.
dont worry about Cibil score , ITS JUST A NUMBER, if you are not planning for any huge long term loan:) credit score dont matter
you are creating too much hassle for your mind by checking credit score regularly
from seeing the above conversations, i can feel that you dont need credit card most of the time:) so dont worry about closing and keep using:)
close what ever card you dont feel like it or can't maintain regularly
number of credit card depends on how much you can handle at the same time in a month
dont worry about credit score as you dont have any plans on taking loans , for sudden closing your credit score will improve in 6 months even in worst cases:) IF YOU KEEP GOOD REPAYMENT HENCE FORTH, so dont worry
Never understood the obsession of having so many cc. For a salaried person, there's no need to have more than a couple. And if I'm not mistaken your cibil takes a hit on closing a cc.
