The Cabinet has approved a revival package of ₹89,047 crore for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL)
It was earlier reported that the government was contemplating the closure of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), a debt-ridden telecommunications company. As a result, there are plans to transfer the staff and operations of MTNL to BSNL, abandoning the previous proposal of merging the two state-owned telecom companies.
For revival of BSNL or for burial of BSNL state owned BSNL not even have 4g and other operators launched 5G
Better invest in vi so it will be good.
All revival money going in bsnl employee pockets
Trying to copy the Chinese govt but it'll be a failed attempt.
Tax money going to looters through legit channels. Well done!
Mare hue ka kya revival karenge
It will be sold off after the revival package, so that the obvious buyer is the beneficiary
Best thing to merge BSNL and VI
If they could have, they would have.
Appears more like a jhumla.

4G is coming and thereafter 5G as well. Govt working with Tata group to bring both these technologies to BSNL. Better late than never.
I only hope they bring in professional management as well into BSNL, otherwise inefficiencies will continue.

How much package should be approved for everyone to get 15 Lacs?
Hopefully I will get it in my account before next elections.
Fingers crossed 🤞

Or earn ownself it's almost 10 years 🫡
every years thousands of crores are given to bsnl.but all the money is spent on their salaries and other perks.
Kuch pesa sarkari medical me bhi daldo. Atleast logo ko lagega ki kuch to fayda hua pesa dalke.
Massive scam - 1 Lakh crore ka BSNL abb bhajiya talega?
taxpayers or voters dono ko chu***a samjhta hain 😔

Inefficiencies and deep retirement benefits are prevalent in all govt cos unfortunately. That was the charm of govt jobs earlier. BSNL has VRS scheme in place for people to take a parachute and retire on good terms.
VI has it's own baggage of debt, merging it will also create more cultural conflict within, already MTNL shifting to BSNL is not without trouble.
Regarding fast 4G, it is believed BSNL has more towers connected by fiber then even Jio, theoretically it can run faster than vi on 4G and atleast comparable comfortably to Airtel and Jio both. Implementation is key however, it's all being handled by TCS and Tata group.
At the top I feel intent is good (not politically speaking), execution is key however 🤞
India really needs a credible govt telco to keep pricing of pvt telcos under check. Also we need a effective domestic telecom manufacturing company - Russian telcos were struggling when EU/US denied them products due to Ukraine Russia war. We need to safeguard that. Like it or not all this responsibility comes on BSNL only.
TLDR: I agree with you largely, but we still need BSNL, and in my opinion merging with VI isn't a very good idea, two wrongs won't make one right.

4G IS COMING in BSNL since a decade but not came yet, forget 5G even their 2g 3g is not working properly

Intent is just an announcement BSNL will barely get anything, just like 1 lakh crore project of Indian Rail kavach got too much drum beating advertisements but they spent about only 20 crore till now
Announcement is something else and working in reality is totally opposit nowadays

But someone I know went to Delhi's Mobile Congress and tested Tata group's 5G solution and got 1.2GBps+ speeds. I feel even if they achieve 5-10% of that in real world that would be fantastic.
I have been disappointed too by BSNL in the past, but atleast this is a real product at hand and within reach for them this time, and not some imaginary product that they claim they will acquire. That's the only thing that gives me any hope honestly.
BSNL has 2.2 crore subscribers. Govt spending 84,000 cr to revive BSNL. That's 40,000 rupees per subscriber

Forget 40000 the subscriber doesn't even get proper signal

What if the name starts with T and ends with A?
Partially blind only see 1 conglomerate whose name starts with A and ends with I
Didnt realise Adani bought Air India as well.
