River Indie Vs Rivals
Being its maiden product, Indie is River’s flagship as well. Pitting it against rivals like Ola S1 Pro, Vida V1 Pro, Ather 450X, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak, lends interesting perspectives. Given extra utility options Indie gets, it weighs the most at 135 kg and is nowhere close to 111.6 kg of Ather 450X with aluminium space frame chassis.river-electric-vs-ather-ola-chetak-iqube-vida-2-1068x718river-electric-vs-ather-ola-chetak-iqube-vida-1068x765river-electric-vs-ather-ola-chetak-iqube-vida-3-1068x460

IMHO - Any new product/category launch always has a set of "First customers". They are the ones who buy the products & are the first feedback givers to the company & to the market (prospecting customers). If the company is really caring about after sales services, then the First set become "Product Testers", whereas if the company is just moving along & handling the customer service as usual (as long as it does not create a ruckus in the market) or doesnt care about after sales service, then the first set, unfortunately, become "Scapegoats" !!!

This is the problem with E2W (Electric 2 Wheeler) market today - unfortunately, even legendary players like TVS are getting proportionately high negative reviews on after sales service of their electric scooter. The problem compounds when the player itself is a new company or a startup. Issues about Ola are known to everyone now. Bounce is facing cash crunch now, I heard.

Some of them have kept the batteries under the footboard. Driving in 2 seasons of rains will actually test these vehicles!

You buy a 2W to keep it for atleast 5-6 years with expectations of facing hardly or absolutely no issues in the first 30-36 months. It is really hard to decide & take a 5-6 yr bet on buying any of the E2W in the market today! I have a 9 yr old Activa, which I am made to believe is still better (atleast build-wise & not fuel efficiency wise) than any of these e2w or even the new ICE scooters!

Please share your experience if you are using an E2W for more than 6-12 months now.

ola didn't design it's scooter, just took the design from some european brand which has been in market for quite few year, so the new player logic doesn't apply. Only that service is going to be bad. And weather conditions are different in india from europe

While it's very difficult to find mutual of cheap and best, TVS iQube base variant might be in top in such a list.

(Excluding imagery prototypes yet to launch in the market)
