Even government doesn’t respond properly to an RTI, forget RTI on a private bank through RBI, there will be a Public information officer in government, no such provision in private I guess

private bank are also under REGULATION by RBI , and RBI can question them on issue related to public intrest (So the HDFC/diner/AMEX card ban by RBI)
beside whats there to loose Rs.10?

To public entities we can file RTI straight away to them. Whereas in case of RTI to private entities we have to write to the public authority to which that private entity is in fiduciary relationship. So in case of private bank we have to write to RBI. If you write straight away to private entity, they may honour or dishonour is left to their own discretion. That apart, when we seek any confidential/personal information, the CPIO may deny it quoting some section in RTI act.

In RTI you can ask questions or cite some information from RBI only but can’t Directly from private banks as they may reject application.

If you want proper and better resolution then file a OMBUDSMAN complaint it will do better.

If you still willing to get information by RTI then file it to RBI (you need to write manipulative application) to obtain information from AXIS Bank and then provide it to you.
