JCB and Viva Wallet announce an extend European roll-out, POS merchant & online E-commerce transactions -
The roll-out will be extended with an additional six European nations, over and above the 17 countries which have already been enabled, from September 2020. This means that Viva Wallet will bring JCB acceptance to merchants spanning a total of 23 countries across Europe from late 2020.
This collaboration will support around 80,000 merchants in Greece, more than 3,000 merchants in Belgium, and more than 6,000 merchants in the United Kingdom (and other countries) across multiple industries including retail, food, and transportation.
Online E-commerce transaction (RuPay-JCB card work on JCB acceptance International online websites outside India) - Over and above streamlining face-to-face transactions, this partnership will enable online JCB acceptance with J/Secure™1.0 (based on Visa’s 3-D Secure Core Protocol Specifications). J/Secure™1.0 is designed to be an additional security layer for card members’ online credit and debit card transactions and provides card members with a safe purchase experience. J/Secure™2.0 (based on the EMV 3-D Secure Protocol and Core Functions Specification) is set to follow the additional September 2020 expansion.

Support for local / Indian companies.
Less money to foreign cos, so less money goes out as royalties, so rupee get stronger theorotically.
Hypothetically speaking, If rupay gets wide spread acceptance like visa. does it mean we save on foreign currency while doing foreign transactions/international visit?
India can save foregein currency on the gateway charges plus India can earn foreign currency from charges earned from other country users….. This amount is huge……
I am mailing my banks to ask if they have the same cards I am using with RuPay as the issuer……
