I wanted to buy a product which is priced much lower than it should be from a new Amazon seller and it is non prime item. Is it safe to buy? What happens the item turned out to be fake or empty box? Any experience please share.

If the seller is new (+zero ratings).. i don’t think it is worth it
+ “Much Lower price” isn’t something usual with the genuine new seller (Obv it is.. with scammers)

If you still wanna give this seller “benefit of the doubt”. opt for prepaid payment instead of COD (More COD scams via New/Fake sellers)

@getready whilst the modus operandi of most of those Moradabad, Rajkot’ish scammers might be to send parcels by COD after phising for shipping addresses, i (for one) much rather prefer pay on delivery for all and especially for fidgety orders.
one just should NOT BE A classic imbecilic moron though https://desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online/topics/seagate-backup-plus-slim-2-tb-external-hdd?page=2#post_7429318…. in that.. they are blissfully unawares that the consignment is NOT the one via AmazonIn/ tracked by (confirmed by) AmazonIN.
and even if seller has confirmed the AWB# to AmazonIN (as can be tracked by them with these partners and a few more, listed at sellercentral help pages)
and even if seller has confirmed the AWB# to AmazonIN, one has to be cautious.
like there were these old EbayIN era businesses (operating from South Bombay and suburbs no less) https://desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online/topics/loot-amazon-products-rs1-free-delivery who would routinely give tracking numbers that even showed as “delivered”… but all from randim previous orders, sometimes even to an entirely different location.

of-course, my purpose was to get them delisted by explaining to ECR that the larger ‘fraud’ (of sorts) was the rigging of ratings and selling of erotica.
[seller was building up a “good” profile by ‘collecting’ good ratings by giving away stuff even at 40-50 paise (and using friends, relative’s accounts) and also slowly listing erotica/ toys from their three seller accounts. The free/cheap orders got them the 4-5★★★★ ratings and the ratings got them orders on their listings of crotchless knickers.]

Now a days some new sellers are faking ratings . In telegram , I saw a amazon seller wants to pay me to order a empty box item from amazon and give 5 star rating. Some seller is paying for ordering item to sellers own address and giving him 5 star rating.
So all low number of customer ratings are now fake.
