As a child, I used to be confused..  as to why

in the Old Spice (lotion) advertisement, women are shown.

In later decades, understood the dictum‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‏‏ ‎ ‏‏‎‏‏‎ that 'sex sells'.


Are Over the Air platforms or whatever shitscape social media platforms just being singled out here¿ Isn't this (salacious content) the norm in every walk of life/ every industry?😔‏‏‏‏

Check the way we recruit people in sales, customer interfacing jobs or in general... make light of sexist remarks.

"Vulgarity": The usual alibi is context and what might be poor taste for someone, might still be considered okay by someone else.

In our times, even as men, we were not allowed to roam around in knickers or almost knee length shorts too... in front of lady workers/ domestic helps.


My own cousin sisters would (needlessly) comment on the legth of the boxers/shorts I am wearing my own bloody home.
A grown-up man bei g chided, reprimanded for shorts that were barely 4-5 inches above the knee joint.

Cut to 5-6 years later.

Same cousin's daughter.. decides to go outside with friends (all teenagers)
and my aunt (my cousin sister's mom) is cribbing that the kid (my aunt's grand daughter) is wearing shorts that are barely covering her..

At least on OTT there is no force feeding, content consumption is at consumers discretion.

How does one explain to a 11 year old, who goes to school.

Gets asked by her/his peers.. whether your father is poor?
(Because the other kids are driven to and from school by chauffeur driven luxury sedan. Whereas the other kid is driven to school by her/his father in a beat-up hatchback).

How, if at all, does one isolate someone or isolate oneself from the impulses of what others are consuming AND PROJECTING?

How does a twenty something kid deal with a situation where they are being 'called out' by the peers for being a virgin.. and labelled as a prude?
The 'twenty something kid' who can manage to remain chaste in her/his thoughts... is/does get instigated and ridiculed by others.. ... "others" who are the consumers of the impulses coming in.. from EVERY direction.
Thus... even when one choses to not be a direct consumer... how does one have a standardised control on the secondary impact (from other consumers)?
One has to remain in society. Society which misses no opportunity to throw a curve ball at you!

Nowadays there is hardly any content on OTT where abusive language and violence (drugs, guns, killing, etc.) is not there. Sadly this has become the de-facto to get attention from viewer and keep him/her engaged to the series or movie and unfortunately viewers are also loving it. 😒

Atleast ott is paid, just search 'hot vlog' on YouTube and you ll know how lower middle class anties are selling for views.

You don't need OTT and social media when Bollywood blasts porn content and humiliates good things just cuz they are Indian even on TV all the time. 

A call to retrieve the nation from "menace of rapes and cultural attack on our civilisation" by misuse "of OTT & Social media platforms, films and pornography promotion".

Last few seconds  the above is mentioned, but really saying OTT,films,etc is cause of rapes is laughable. It is just like saying "chote kapade pahenoge toh aisa hi hoga" instead of educating the men. "Cultural attack" if you see the shows , they in a way represent the current society , well in some maybe to extreme end but how does showing the current society become attack like our culture as no issues and everything is perfect. See the flaws in your society and culture rather than blaming others.
