My brother has account in SBI, recently he updated his number in his account though SBI internet banking.  Number got updated successfully, but now weird thing is happening. He is still getting debit card OTP in his older registered mobile number & the rest messages like banking related on his newly updated number. UPI is also mapped on new number, but the problem is debit card OTP. He also went to brach get the number updated but still the same problem despite of updating through branch. Customer is not able to figure out why it is happening. They just telling contact branch. How can be two number mobile number be mapped at the same time 🤔. Have ever faced such issue, how did you get it resolved?

Their servers are slow stuck_out_tongue
It takes a while for the numbers to get updated
Have patience, everything will get sorted automatically.. visiting branch n contacting their support is waste of time

PS: Had same issue when I tried changing mobile numbers via NB portal sometime back hoping that Yono issues will get resolved

I’m also facing issue in SBI Quick. My mobile number is linked to my only SBI account and I receive all net banking, yono, transactional messages. But when I try to register for SBI quick, I receive reply that my mobile number is not linked to account. Any way to sort this out? I emailed SBI quick CC, they just repeating steps to register. I had visited branch to check whether mobile number is linked to bank account and they had replied in the affirmative.

In my case.. its the same mobile number linked to SBI since the beginning (10+ years old account)
Last year when i tried to activate Yono (Android App* .. Webportal did work though w/ minor issues & i even got Yono CB for few Amazon.in Transactions) it didn’t work.. got similar issue as yours

// I emailed SBI quick CC, they just repeating steps to register //
Same thing happened with me too. Then i tried visiting three nearby SBI Branches (Hope Farm, Ramagondanahalli & Varthur) & reached out to the Yono Help Desk there.. they wasted time n did nothing else

Finally i decided to go to the Native branch (Different State/City)
May be you should visit them again and specifically mention that you’re having issues with SBI Quick. If you ask them to verify the linked mobile number, they simply check the basic details and say “YES

This issue needs a few visits to branch. SBI account can have different mobile numbers lnked for different purposes, it is likely a bug. When updating contact number, the number need to be changed on the customer ID page instead of bank account page, this is possible at branch. This way of update usually involves irritating the bank folks for some time, otherwise they don’t do.

Follow the suggestion given above by others mentioning home branch visit. In such cases the real solution can be provided only by sbi technical team which usually sits in Bangalore or Mumbai but getting to them is impossible for a typical customer so branch employees use their own “jugaad” like adding a term deposit to acc which probably forces a refresh of mobile number in the system.
