sbi credit card policy

In Sbi, if you miss due date for 1 month, the finance charges for late payment will come. But finance charges can be reveresed at most 1 time in a financial year.
But point to note here is : after that month, the next 2 months – you are supposed to pay the bill on statement date itself (not due date), if you pay before/on/after due date, financial charges will be there.

I came to know this now only sad
Very bad policy of SBI.

Actually i came to know, gov says after due date we have 3 grace days to pay. But SBI says according to them, it is 2 days grace period, after due date. If you pay even in grace period, they will charge the finanical charges for you, and if you call and say it – oh ya u paid on grace period itself, so we are reversing the charges, and they reversed it (as it was 1st time of the year).
But as said in above para, my next 2 months too will get finance charges if not paid on statement date – as in previous month, my acc was marked as late paid (actually didn’t late pay, used grace period – which is typically not late period and my acc not supposed to be marked for next 2 months as well).

Its a lesson learnt!
Pay on time, borrow money from friend/nbr/relative…. but pay on time!
Pursue it over emails.
You may write an email to RBI and copy mark to SBIcards citing the absurd policy, you may get charges reversed.

@vickyVicky is there any charge in SBI if the bill paid within 2 days after due date? I paid the bill via Mobikwik 6-7 days back.. Mobikwik showed the bill payment as successful (initially it was processing) but now the status is changed to failed.

In some posts many dimers commented exact days for each bank….
I think for SBI, 2 days from due date allowed. Pay soon in SBI website itself
Hsbc no days.

My due data was 2nd.. I paid today via CRED. I got the confirmation from SBI immediately. Will I get charged any penalty or interest?

You should check your comment after recent ex-gratia.

As Education loans, Housing loans, Consumer Durable loans, Credit card dues, Auto Loans, Personal loans and Consumption loans are loans that are in the form of a Term Loan / Demand Loan and not a Cash Credit or an Overdraft facility, the outstanding in the account as at the end of 29.2.2020 will be the reference amount for Term Loans on which the interest (simple as well as compound) will be calculated.

Many paid their dues in advance so they didn’t receive anything laughing

For SBI, pay on time. Even on grace period it’s not a good thing to pay. Check above link.
Also you commented ‘today’ what date, say in figures.

Due date was 2nd Nov, credit as per SBI statement is 3rd Nov.

Oh in statement date mentioned is 3rd ?
Then it falls under, grade period. They will put charges. Call them and say it falls under grade period, and if it’s first time in card financial year, they will reverse it, else you have to pay.
Also, in both cases, be ready to pay next 2 months bills on their email statement received date itself (not due date).

Recent ex-gratia is a one time exception, treat it as a lucky scratch card & not some rule to base your future decisions on else you will end up like those retail investors who somehow able to make profit of lakhs in yes bank like shares by a stroke of luck only to suffer a similar/bigger loss in future in yes bank like shares relying on same strategy. sunglasses
