Do we get 2.5% rewards on add money and gift cards ?
Please help, i just got the card generated.

And what is “Over-limit fee: 2.5% of the over-limit amount or Rs.500”. I have seen this online.

Reason to get this card-
I’m already having Amazon pay icici and Flipkart axis credit cards, And I mostly cross credit limit in Amazonpay icici.
And i missed few good sbi 10% instant discount offers on amazon and Flipkart.

You can’t purchase amazon gv with any credit card now.
Also simplyclick recently stopped giving rewards on wallet loads, so not sure if you will get rewards on adding money to Amazon wallet.

No rewards on add money – self verified

You may or may not get on gv- currently they stopped allowing gv from cc, earlier in July before stopped, few gots points or few not got (depend on what merchant name shows in sbi statement) (apay Mumbai or apay Banglore)

I’m not sure if on bill payment you’ll get but no rewards on add money.

GV can’t be purchased right now but I think you won’t get it as some got some didn’t.

Overlimit fees is the fees charged when you spend over and above the assigned credit limit

Most add money/GV transactions are shown as Amazon ….. Mumbai whereas shopping and other txns are shown as Amazon …. Bangalore

No Reward Points are being given for Mumbai txns.

ADD MONEY- NO REWARDS
GIFT CARD- BUYING NOT POSSIBLE VIA ANY CC
ANY AMAZON ORDER, BILL PAYMENT FROM AMAZON DIRECTLY- REWARD WILL BE GIVEN
TRANSACTION IN 3RD PARTY APP VIA AMAZON- NOT SURE ABOUT REWARD WILL BE GIVEN OR NOT (AS IT IS THE ADD MONEY TO WALLET, THEN PAYMENT, STILL NOT SURE HERE REWARD WILL BE GIVEN OR NOT)

AND OVER LIMIT FEE – IF YOUR CARD HAVING 25000 LIMIT, AND YOU MADE A PAYMENT OF 25100 (DON’T WORRY, YOU PAYMENT WILL GET SUCCESSFUL), THAT 100 RS YOU PAID BY OVERING YOUR LIMIT, THATS WHY YOU WILL BE CHARGED wink.

But I hope we can add money before crossing the credit limit to avoid over limit fee.

Can you confirm if it is possible to do a transaction exceeding card limit by adding money in advance.e.g.my simplyclick card is against FD with a limit of 14k so can I add 36k & order a 50k laptop from amazon & earn reward points on entire transaction without any overlimit charges. Someone here recently posted he did something similar(added 34k to 78k sbi card limit to buy 108k iphone)

What about sbi? Was that guy correct when he said he could buy 108k phone with a sbi card limit of 78k by adding 34k in advance & without any overlimit charges? How is this allowed by banks anyway as doesn’t this render cibil score irrelevant because a person with good cibil score & high credit limit is no different from a person with lower cibil score & lower limit but has the capacity to make advance fund payment.

Ok. I always thought those people spend many times more of their credit limit by first utilizing it almost full & then add money to release the limit but didn’t think they were doing single transactions exceeding their card limit because who buy a single amazon GV of 1 lakh. smile

So in short sbi, hdfc & icici allow single transaction exceeding card limit by adding funds in advance to the card & don’t charge anything for this. Any other major banks that allow or don’t allow this?

U didn’t understand the overlimit concept.
It’s not about your total card limit, it’s all about the present limit available in time of transaction.

My axis limit also 25k, but last month I spent 72k. So, it’s not about overall limit or card limit.
It’s only about, when u are paying money, if that time u crossed you card available limit balance, then you will be charged.

THATS IT blush

Yes correct I know this.

We can make advance payment and make transactions out if that advance payment.

However I think the question asked was is this allowed or will we be charged if we make advance payment and do txns

Was that card regular non-secured or was it against FD? Also this does not work for any emi transaction.

Regular card, non emi transaction. May be the credited amount is not settled.

If we are talking about settled transactions then almost all cards takes 2-3 days for this which I don’t think is what others did. How did you add the money, was it directly through your card’s site or through 3rd party site(like cred, mobikwik) & whether you used same bank as fund source(e.g.hdfc acc) or another bank?
