Hi All,

I have made my Axis bank credit card payment using SBI unipay on 23rd Aug 2024. Transaction got failed but the amount got deducted from my hdfc savings account.

I tried to register complaint in the unipay portal, but it gets timed out. So, I sent email to - [email protected] & [email protected] on 26th Aug. I received a reply from [email protected] the they have refunded the amount on the same day but they didn't get any transaction or reference number. I don't see that amount in my hdfc account as well

I tried replying to that email and even tweeted. But I'm not getting any response. Should I wait till end of this week?

What's the next escalation procedure? Can someone help me?

Don't worry you will receive a refund today or tomorrow. I personally received it on the 3rd working day.

I don't understand that why people are so desperate to receive their refunds. Almost every other day, I see posts of people worried about their refund after 2-3 days of the failed transaction. I understand that you'll be stuck if your due date is near and the transaction fails, but otherwise you should take a chill pill. The industry standard is still 7 working days for the refund to be credited back into the account, though mostly it arrives in 3-4 days. Even then, there are some scenarios when it can take 10-15 days, mostly seen if you're using SBI services.

So, I don't think that there's any need to put the effort of escalating the issue unless it has been more than 15 days.

Because in this digital age, refund should reflect immediately if the transaction didn't went through. Now, tell me where the money is stuck? It didn't go to the biller and it didn't come back to source. So, now on which account this amount is tagged/stuck? Expectations is that It should get delayed only if it stuck somewhere and there's some genuine issue.

I am in the same boat as OP. Did you @avatar01 get an email with title Bill Payment Failure containing transaction reference number immediately after the failed transaction?

My bill payment for one of my hdfc bank credit cards failed today but the amount was debited from my savings account. I received email from sbi stating that the transaction with reference number so and so is failed and the amount debited would be refunded within 3-4 working days. What I find fascinating is that the transaction reference number for the failed transaction has vanished from the sbi unipay website and is no longer displayed. Also, the high failure rate for some credit card bills and not others suggests that they could perhaps have some internal criteria for approving payments.

Can we pay CC bill on Sunday (Without failed transaction)?

I think it is safer to pay within working hours on working days. Try to pay cc bill of less value first.
