SBICard reluctant to close CC

I have two SBI CCs - one SimplyClick and another SimplySave. I couldn't meet milestone spend on the former card and surprisingly my fee reversal request got denied when raised online. On the call also it was denied at first but once I threatened closure of SimplySave which had no dues, they quickly gave me the refund.

Now I have been trying to close SimplySave UPI CC but they called me and said you can request for fee reversal when it is charged. I reluctantly agreed since the card anniversary date is in 2025. I could confirm that LTF conversion offers were not present for both of my cards during the call. Any advice for me?

Update: Called them again and this time I stayed firm regarding my closure request. The card got closed during the call itself and NOC received on email. The credit limit got transferred to my SimplyClick.

Keep using, when they charge annual fee just request for card closure, they will reverse your annual fee

Thought of doing that but with that reward structure and having Tata Neu Infinity on the other hand, went ahead with closure - another call sorted it out, NOC came right away and limit was moved to my SimplyClick.

SBI always reverse the annual fee and now a days they also accept lifetime free request.

Also apply multiple banks RuPay credit cards, now a days apps offer bank specific RuPay credit card UPI offers too.

RuPay and UPI also sometimes offer promotional offers, multiple cards means multiple times benefit.

Last thing, well its depend on you but many people use their card for ecom discount offers for other users and charge Rs200 to Rs400 extra commission. This way you can easily recover SBI Cards annual fee + pay cc bill through any reward/cashback benefit debit cards.
