@abhishek012 any wallet providing rupay card where we can load money from credit card for free and use the same to pay rent in Paytm without any charges

@abhishek012 bhai.. saying goodbye to this rupay debit card ( unable to use it even once in last 12 months – due to OTP page infinite reload ) as BM / RM offered free upgrade to LTF 0-forex visa signature debit card ( 10K issuance waived off and 0 AMC )

Feeling sad as account closures and/or debit card closures are getting planned due to uncertainty of Rupay Amazon Friday offer being continued..

Also do we get different treatment/services if SBM account is opened by third party app like Niyo Global etc?

I opened Niyo Global account recently and UPI works fine once I created ID (mobile number@sbmbank) from SBM bank mobile app for Niyo Global account, net banking by SBM bank also works although it's a joke/too basic. I also have SBM bank INDmoney account which it also shows in the app (no Debit card associated with that account though).

Btw anyone opened SBM Bank 0 balance savings account recently and got RuPay Platinum? Do they still have it with 5 lakh initial deposit ?

And suppose we visit branch to open account, then do we have to visit it again for ATM card activation? Does card arrive at home or at branch?

Update: I learned that you can call SBM Bank Customer care at 1800 103 3817 (mentioned at https://www.sbmbank.co.in/global_indian/relatio...) and they send you a link to open a savings account with them directly (not via their partners, that is). Click that link, fill up PAN, Aadhaar, complete OFFLINE Aadhaar XML verification, then complete video KYC, then fill up the account opening form including uploading signature, photo, debit card of your choice (choose RuPay Contactless) etc. They verify it and then your account is open. As Abhishek earlier said, initial funding is 5 lakh which you can transfer via IMPS and then they will issue you a RuPay Platinum debit card, once account is active and operational.

No need any more to physically visit branch. However I called their number, they took my request and called me 2 months later when I had given up hope.😂

Account type – Private wealth saving account,  AMB – 0, SMS charges – 0, cheque book charges – 0, RuPay Platinum debit card issue – 0, First deposit – 5 lakhs which you can reverse later as it is a 0 balance account. The lady who called me promised me a RuPay Platinum (as long as I chose RuPay Contactless) in the account opening form that comes after video KYC.

All thanks go to @abhishek012 bro for bringing this bank to my notice for direct account opening (if you have other accounts like Niyo Global, Hop Money, INDmoney Super Saver account, they will merge it under the same customer ID as the new savings account). They have SBM Mobile banking app and also a very basic and slow internet banking where you can add beneficiary, do fund transfers etc.

OK so I found out that if you have a RuPay card, it will never show in the SBM Bank netbanking website or mobile app. You have to either visit some extremely far off ATM OR send an email to one of the BRANCH email IDs listed here: https://www.sbmbank.co.in/aboutus/contact-...hp (Note: not customer care).

Request them to enable e-commerce transactions on your debit card and they will enable it for you.

This is the second bank I have come across after TJSB which requires us to send email to control card channels (enable-disable ecommerce transactions). 😂

@equalizer @abhishek012 After emailing nodal officer, he was able to enable it with the help of backend team and after confirmation call to me. Finally it is working. November month wasted for RuPay offer but at least card charges are 0.

Update: TJSB Bank's updated mobile app called Smart Money finally has added the ability to modify debit card channels and limits. No more need to email them. So now only SBM Bank is behind in this area. And @equalizer would know if they offer this facility for Visa cards.

Oh "one more thing". UPI transactions are not working on RuPay Platinum debit card at all (it says invalid card details when we try to set PIN). UPI ID/VPA is assigned using SBM Mobile app so crediting money using this VPA works but you'll have to use good old NEFT/RTGS/IMPS for moving money out from this account if not the debit card itself.

Maybe I should complain about this to someone - that UPI not working on RuPay debit card from SBM Bank? @abhishek012 please guide me where to complain.

And this is sad because UPI works on their Niyo Global Visa Signature or MoneyHop Visa Signature cards just fine!
