Since you mentioned 4 gb, it means he bought a refurbished unit from Amazon as fresh units come with 8 gb. I had bought new unit 2 yrs back at 5k. At the same time, the refurbished unit was available at 4k which I cancelled and bought a new unit.
Now you have to decide what your are buying.
