Celebrities using iphone: “Our data is 100% safe.”
No GIF ?
The only way China improves technology – stealing others datas. US intelligence says China din’t make anything on their own past 10yrs without stealing from other countries
I’m not surprised by this. Almost all Chinese company must be doing this. Chinese ‘state’ has tremendous control over most private & public companies.
unlocking bootloader, rooting & installing custom rom can void warranty??
Undoubtedly, Yes!!
Worthless Mi Browser
Don’t even remember when I last used it
Always prefer via & edge
Also avoid Logging into your Mi Account+ Enable Auto Sync call/sms log /backup of pictures (If you feel paranoid about unauthorised data share)
+ Almost all companies collect data n store in their servers (local/non-local)
This is a legal thing..its always there in tnc
Even Windows 10 has it (enabled by default) & all those beta android apps too
PS: Not a fan of MIUI
Always prefer custom rom unless its my secondary phone
Redmi Note 7s ke liye koi rom bta do…Battery 7hr chalti & hangs a lot in normal usage.Only 6 months old device.
Chinese OEM > data accessible to Chinese regime, army, intelligence agencies
Murican OEM > data accessible through backdoors to Murican gormint, CIA,NSA
Unless you are a government employee working in a sensitive department, researchers, politicians, diplomats, journalist etc you got no worries ( there are already protocols for them )
your data isn’t of any use to either.
If any govt. agency does decide to go after you or your data they can do so quite easily.
Privacy is an illusion either way.
MI maybe supports warranty on rooted phones but Samsung doesn’t…I know this because have held several Sammy devices over the years…
instead of flashing custom rom, block all Xiaomi hosts in etc/host file. I do it all the time, not because of privacy issues but to not exceed my data plan.
ps: I dnt think my data will be of any use to the Chinese govt or multi million dollar companies. but for the individual making these custom roms, yes.
They are no normal individuals…They are professional developers with years of experience in developing & tweaking custom roms & their new rom submissions have to pass after stringent checking by the XDA site/forum authorities…It’s not like any random person can post a custom rom thread there….To post a custom rom you will need to earn a contributing developer tag under your forum username which only like 20-30 people gets out of billions of their members from all over the world…
And on the XDA forums, everything is public so all their billions of members daily reports about the functionalities & issues they are facing in the same custom rom thread so that the dev can fix those issues…And on XDA, most members (around 90% of their total member base) know what they are doing because they are also flashing custom roms since several years…
The site & the forum is running since 2002 & there was not even a single instance found where the developer tried to steal data from their firmwares…
For me personally, I trust custom roms & their developers more than the official firmware makers because all the official firmware makers insert something in their firmware which can steal data but these developers don’t do that…
Also the goodness of the custom roms are, they don’t come with any bloatware which almost all phones with official firmwares come with (except Android One phones which offers pure android experience)…And because of that, custom roms are much smaller in file size, much faster & provides far better battery lives compare to their official counterparts…Plus we can flash more modem versions (CP) to get even better signal connectivity…
But I know, for new people who never flashed custom roms & not familar with how XDA works, they will think it’s risky…It’s normal to think that & they should stick to their official roms only…
P.S. My Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE version (which was one of the best selling Samsung phones at that time, I imported that from UK because Indian Note 3 version didn’t have 4G & NFC) which is ages old had the official support only till Lollypop (Android 5) lol…I’m running Android 10 on that now & that is still faster than the last official Lollypop version by Samsung even though Android 10 is the newest version & Lollypop was from 2014…
Custom rom for honer 7x
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/devel...
Don’t flash any custom rom without knowing the full procedure & without doing a thorough research in the above forums…If you flash it wrongly, your phone may get dead…So, proceed at your own risk…
And if you are concerned about your privacy, we ain’t got any privacy bro…Even companies like Google & Facebook steal our data on daily basis when we use them…Our very own Govt knows exactly how much amount entering in your bank accounts & what transactions are you doing from which account…
We are always under an invisible surveillance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year…
So if you are thinking that, you have privacy, forget that…We don’t have such thing…And this is not only with Indians…It’s same universally…
