Serious issue

A private hospital in Vijayawada city is not following COVID guidelines and allowing people inside their hospital without even checking the temperature of the people. Some of the staff in that hospital are not even wearing masks also.Further, that hospital is blatantly looting people by charging 500 Rs as doctor consultation for one day and also asking 500 Rs again as consultation fees even if patient goes on next day. This hospital did not even mention about this sick rule of pay everyday during our first visit. Our second visit was to report about the side effect caused by the improper medicine prescription of their doctor and still they were so much stubborn to loot. This hospital is looting middle class people like anything by demanding consultation fees for everyday when the standard practice in the city is doctor fees validity of 15-30 days in other hospitals in Vijayawada. They are trying to loot many other patients in the same way.Middle class are already suffering economically a lot due to COVID.

Where should we complain about this issue?

It’s similar sad state of affairs all around and I don’t think one can complain about it. Wearing masks is a suggestion by governments all around but isn’t being enforced a rule so it’s up to everyone’s own discretion. If you feel the hospital is unsafe avoid going there and prefer other hospitals.

As far as fees go, even that’s up to their own discretion. If their policy says fees paid once is valid only for one consultation then it’s their own rules, how can you complain about it? There are no set guidelines that one follow up consultation needs to be free in certain number of days, especially when it comes to private hospitals.

In Hyderabad we get one free follow up consultation up to 7 days in some major private hospitals.

@raghupro It is not a matter of choosing another hospital. If they do not follow COVID rules inside the hospitals where there is a significant chance of forming infection chain, patients going there with comorbidities will easily catch the virus become super spreaders.Hospitals become hotspots for the virus.

When in a major metro like Hyderabad area doctors are giving upto 7 days, this particular hospital in tier 2 city like Vijayawada is demanding 500 Rs fees everyday stating that the fees paid is valid for only one day.

He is doctor or daily labour(asking daily wage)?Actually our second visit to the hospital was made due to side effects of the medicine prescribed by the doctor and still they are demanding fees again. That is why we want to complain.

If you didn’t like the fact that they charged 500/- when you went there next day, and that they’re ‘looting’ middle class people, then go to those ‘other hospitals of vijayawada’ (that you mentioned in your post) next time.
A 10th pass plumber charges 500 for fixing two taps and no one has any issues, a doctor who spent so many years studying asks for 500 and people start feeling they’re being looted.

If you’d like to complain due to poor infection control practices, then you can do so to the DHO or to NABH if hospital is NABH Accredited.

@cm4444 10th pass plumber do not form syndicate with politicians, pharma and play with the lives of the people. Most of the other hospitals in our city is not doing this blatant misuse of position and abuse of middle class people.Your logic is sounding like since he is a doctor,he can loot just like the way plumbers are doing according to you.‘So,a person can commit mistake if other person also does a mistake’.You are either a doctor or someone from the healthcare sector-can feel your frustration from your blatant defending reply towards your industry.

Also,it is not correct to compare 5 minutes of consultation work of a doctor who sits in AC room with a plumber who works hard as daily labour.

As expected you are connected to healthcare sector:

The second visit was for the side effect caused by the medication prescribed by this doctor who actually gave improper medicines during our first visit in order to sell the stock in his pharmacy. After so called many years of studying and even more years of practice also, these kind of doctors want people to believe that they don’t know ‘which medicines suit for which age group and patient profile’. They are just intentionally making ‘trial and error on the patients to loot’.

Not only in Vijayawada in our home town also hospitals are really looting by taking consultation fees as 500₹

On top of that, they are saying consultation fees is valid only for one day. What next-consultation fees valid only for half day/ one minute? We are not against all the doctors, but only against the most of the greedy doctors in the current generation. As,we read in one of the posts in desidime, senior most old doctors are better than these new gen money suckers.Doctors in the past used to take lesser fees and used to give validity of 30 days.We agree that taking same less fees is not possible due to inflation, but atleast a doctor must have some empathy towards the patients in providing adequate validity atleast for the exorbitant consultation fees paid.

Affordable and regulated health care should be the primary agenda of our country atleast from now as a lesson learnt from pandemic.

By the way, where is your hometown bro?

flushed this is what happens, BTW you can’t do anything about it.

But you can watch the below movie, and to some extend can lower down your anger as the movie is related to the same topic. You will get justice in the Movie.

You will get idea of how you can treat the issue.

// Further, that hospital is blatantly looting people by charging 500 Rs as doctor consultation for one day and also asking 500 Rs again as consultation fees even if patient goes on next day //

Post lockdown, few hospitals opted for this model because of less patients / maintenance issues
They hiked the consultation fees and made it one-time

@getready But,they are not carrying out the maintenance activities also. No masks for most of the staff,no temperature checkup,no disinfection of air/frequent contact points. Lockdown for hospitals lasted for very less time-correct me if I miss something. Most of the hospitals are using COVID and lockdown as an excuse to loot exorbitantly while many middle class people in our country lost their jobs and salaries and got stabbed economically.

@P_A_N_K_A_J Went because they followed COVID guidelines during first visit and they were considered to be the gold standard for the issue(all credit goes to his advertising and marketing skills).Doctors these days give another brand medicine if you complain of side effects and they never return the money. Infact, this doctor is not even agreeing that his medicine gave side effect to us and instead putting the blame for side effect on our non existing anxiety.

500 is not the issue(although double than normal fees here),asking for 500 everyday for consultation from the patients is the issue. If Government hospitals really work properly,no need of this bloodsuckers. But,reality is different.

Already the price charged is double than normal and still they want to charge the exact amount for the next visit on the following day also and that too without mentioning about this pay every day rule during first visit. These hospitals are nothing but leeches imp imp .

Sad state of affairs by the hospitals/lootpatals:

The greed of another hyper reputed hospital in Vijayawada costed the lives of several innocent people recently.Shameless hospital cheated patients by falsely treating them as COVID positive(most of them are COVID negative-exposed in the probe later) and with inadequate safety norms leading to tragic fire accident causing death of 11 people and injury of 22 persons.

Post covid thing , In one of pvt hospital I frequently visit before . I paid 150rs extra next day just to show the testing report to doctor. Also they added a corona fee to doctor consultation fee , so for one consultation it is 600+150 and 150 extra even on visit next day . Though doctor asked us why you paid 150 rs , you should just come to chamber and show me the reports. grinning
