Hi dimers,

Just wanted to know about your shopping experiences before online shopping came in our lives. How would you bargain with the shopkeepers for discounts? No bank cashback offers were present at that time. Please do share your opinion regarding online vs offline shopping experience.

I dont know because when online shopping came into existence like Amazon entered India in 2014 and Flipkart in 2010. I bought my very first online order by COD and thereafter only prepaid options like Debit Card.At that time I was just 17 years old and also Internet is very costly in those days, that were the time when you didn’t have much options in Online and Offline was Market Leader.

I don’t really have any experience because whatever I bought like clothes, food, electronics is offline and still in some sections I still think OFFLINE is best when it comes to bargaining and also nowadays FLIPKART, AMAZON has lost the charm and no more giving DHAANSU Deals like BBD Sale and GREAT INDIA SALE.

For – Physical Gold, Clothing and Big Electronics I still Prefer Offline

Want to share a recent experience, for Online vs Offline..

I have been buying Bagh Bakri premium chai for 520₹ for 1 kg from Amazon. With 50₹ cashback on 500 of UPI, it is effectively 470. Offline it’s selling for 485₹ max or even less Also, in offline there is 1 kg refined sugar freebie, which Amazon is not giving in online. So offline deal is much better. I should have checked in the local market first

Even I have noticed sometimes that some online products have an inflated MRP than the same in offline market. For example, I use to purchase Red Label Tea 1Kg pack from Amazon at MRP 550 minus Rs 50 cashback on Amazon Pay UPI and the same product with later manufacturing date has MRP 470 at Reliance Smart stores. Sometimes in sales, I have even purchased this product at Rs 390 from Reliance Smart. The point here is we should not trust online shopping blindly as sometimes in the name of cashback offers, products with inflated MRPs have dubious offers to attract customers.

There didn’t use to be such high rates before. Online portals ruined quality products at regular lower middle class prices. Now everything is costly but nobody wants to talk about quality.
