Should bigger screen size be a deciding factor on your next upgrade?

I recently upgraded my android phone from a 6.26" to a 6.78" .screen size.

I consider myself as a mid level user and commenting on that, its not about the model or the features or the cost but only if you take the screen size as a deciding factor.

After the upgrade to a bigger screen, I do not feel like the increase in screen size has added any additional value to my everyday use. With the increasing screen size the phone is only getting longer and not any wider compared to the smaller screen phones. So from a visual perspective when using the phone vertically most of the time, nothing has changed. Except it just got bulkier. Maybe an extra rack of icons on the home screen, has it added any value by deciding to carry an even bulkier phone. For a mid level user, NO.

So if you are planning to gift someone ( older peoples ) a phone with a bigger screen, thinking that might help them see bigger, please remember that, if it is still a phone, above a certain screen size everything is pretty much going to look the same when used vertically.

On the contrary, certain user’s prefer smaller screen, 5.5 inch max (talking about the screen size only, lol); it’s more handy that way, can be easily operated with a single hand, is lighter on weight, has more ppi, and what not smile

Bigger screen phones are in demands due to the OTT content and gaming these days, tons of streaming apps and for superior gaming experience it’s booming right now, also big screen needs bigger battery and hence the added weight… compact screen size for mobility is deminishing due to these factors though I personally prefer max 5.5" screen…but manufacturers are more inclined towards making bigger screen phones…
