Get some other card first, then close this secured card.
After 1 yr close this cc. do transaction on icici you will get preapproved cc.Â
Reason for decline of amazon card is not that you already have a icici credit card.

Yeah right, checked and it was due to less than 6 months credit history

Any reference link? In 2020-2022 i was holding fd platinum card but never got any "existing cc" option.

Yes it does unless your amazon acc primary mobile number is same as your existing icici cc(not FD based) & you see such banner for amazonpay card in which case you just need to click on apply now & you won't even have to enter card number as it will already be captured by system based on your mobile number.
If such a banner is not showing or the number linked with existing icici cc is different from the one in amazon acc then one will see the option to select "existing icici cc user" in next screen when clicking on apply now.

I concur. 2/3 friends of mine had ICICI FD backed CC never got the option to generate Amazon Pay CC on the basis of existing ICICI CC but third friend who has unsecured CC got that option. Infact, one of them got rejected for Amazon Pay CC even though he had secured ICICI CC for which ICICI did the whole KYC like a new customer. This was way back in 2020. Going by your experience, I think ICICI is still not offering Amazon Pay CC on the basis on existing FD backed ICICI CC.
Some saying keep fd based for generating amazon cc, some saying close and wait for pre approved, so confusing.
Should i close it bcz till now it's a fact that icici will never give pre approved offer as long as fd cc is there.
Yes you have to close your existing ICICI scored credit card for getting pre approved credit card from ICICI. I wait almost 18 months but no pre approved CC offer from ICICI. I closed thr secured card & waited like 4~5 months & got the pre-approved Coral ltf then next month I got Apay card.
