too much emotional / sentimental people are these days when it comes to using social media. No offence to OP or anyone else but this trend is lately reached some new heights. Some youtubers saying goodbye to YT and bam ! they are back say 6-12 months back … can’t argue on anyone’s will or choice to announce their temporary leave or anything but doing so is just too much sentimental

Anyway, don’t make social media like facebook, twitter, quora, reddit, pinterest, linkedin, Instagram, snapchat, discord, whatsapp and shit loads of others your second home that you will be emotional about. All these started with communicating with vast numbers of internet user back in days. They were no were near " social " like now but was useful to the highest point without compromising your privacy .. no phone no and others shits.

The old school BBS was and still remain as one of the prime example of it. Then we got usenet, irc, forums etc. etc… but with the emergence of facebook so many things changed. People are going to extreme extent on these as they let you post your emotional things. I don’t use facebook, twitter, whatsapp etc. etc. much even though I’ve account I hardly use them ina month.

Facebook, twitter etc. are here to make business and it’s surprising to see how people in administration, politics are using it like their free communication tool without caring for privacy. If it’s normal people then it may be fine but when it comes people in administration it’s different thing as they can make their own communication software out of public domain. Back in the days there were false, fake information even on BBs, forums etc. but it was upto one’s own wit and judgement on what to believe or not. Now with emergence of posting edited photos and videos and what not suddenly fake things are reaching a new height of people’s attraction.

Anyway, it’s difficult to make most understand what I’m saying but use these shit loads of social media things for your communication purpose only … Just try to feel what the founder of Facebook or twitter thinks when two politicians are a in a fight on their platform. These platforms are not addiction or anything it’s on how and to what extent you use them and how much of personal information you want to have them . If it’s too much just give them the big “eff”.

I check on DD almost everyday and only spend time on what I may find interesting and never felt like wasting time here as I know what I need and what I can advice on. Anyway, all the best to OP.
