I recently ported out of Idea to BSNL and it was to be completed today, The network on idea sim went off so I inserted the new bsnl sim and since then it’s showing error code 44; please try later. Neither of the sim are unable to connect to network and I’m stuck without my number, what should I do? Would be missing out on imp. calls if it isn’t fixed by morning.

BSNL takes around 1 day for calls activation and around 2 days for Internet activation. It is quite common. Whereas private companies activate sim in less than an hour. This is the difference between government and corporate.
Modi ji ka call ane wala hai kya
Not sure but in the past bsnl sim also needed to be in its home circle only for initial activation(in case you are currently not in same home circle of sim).
applicable for all not just bsnl
Nowadays Activation Of New Sim Or Porting In Bsnl Hardly Takes A Day Or Two Max. Once Activation Is Done You Will Receive A Welcome Msg Too.
You Did Porting From Bsnl Office ?
FRC Done?
Recently I ve ported my secondary sim to BSNL from Airtel (to reduce monthly recharge)
I ve done it from BSNL office.. Gave 20(sim) + 50 to do FRC in advance (took his number)
So after 7 days(approx) my Airtel lost signal..
I ve inserted BSNL sim.. there was Signal but was unable to call/sms.. So I ve asked the person who did porting to recharge but he was unable to recharge(receiving error), asked me to dial *123# and restart, *1# etc.. I did and sent screenshots..
I ve called BSNL CC and asked whether my sim is shown as activated in there database.. it was..
Then Next day he was able to recharge.. and I was able to call..
In short it took a day for me.. as it was secondary number and it was only for receiving call.. did not bother me much..
It may vary with others.. and with Circles..
