I haven't given any otp or consent to login in my simpl account and transactions amount of 21138 done without any permissions how can this be possible.

Got at least 10 calls from this number - 98494 87079 saying that I requested a number change on my simpl account and it was an automated call, and they were trying to impersonate that they are from simpl. The call said that "you requested a number change, if you want the number to change please disconnect the call, if you did not do the request please share the 4 digit otp, when I chose the latter, I pressed 1, I got the 4 digit otp" and from history we have always learnt not to share the otp. so I disconnected the call, it was very smart of them. but they kept pestering me every 2 mins with the same thing

This is why I don't use new apps and upi even with all the lucrative cashbacks back them.

I would rather use my debit card, netbanking and good ol' cash on delivery.

Don't understand why they do not still have transaction limit setting, and also unlink all merchants option on app

It seems, their app itself got compromised (any setting can be easily changed). Hardly any offers these days.. better to at least get the accounts de-activated (got two here w/ 12k and 23k limits)

It’s not possible.  You might have entered OTP in the fake IVR call. Simpl fraud calls are so well done nowadays that anyone will fall for it. Read the whole Simpl fraud post someone linked earlier in this post. It’s not possible to hack a phone by just calling.

They are least bothered about defaulters too (Yet to make KYC mandatory for all those initial accounts and limit the credit limit. Like me, there are many with 10/20k credit limit) 
/ they do but don't want to compromise the user count (Received last funding in Nov 30,21)

Scamsters can make multiple accounts and exploit them

For new accounts, kyc in mandatory (at least PAN link for Experian score check) but i doubt these guys will survive for long

Eventually I understood that it was the other way round, if you want the number to change you need to share the otp, if you don't want anything to do with it, just disconnect the call. Savdhan rahe satark rahe

I was expecting such thread when I received similar IVR based calls last week claiming that we have received request for account modification/ your account logged on from another device. The interface looked so convincing, I expected 20-30% people to fall in this trap.

However I still cannot believe that transactions have happened without actually sharing the OTP in the IVR. Getting access to somebody's OTP by hacking the mobile handset is not an easy task.

Since the present fraudsters are attempting this fraud on a mass scale by using automated IVR calls and attempted Simpl transactions, it is extremely unlikely that they would have hacked anyone's mobile for the fraud.

The call they are making is very smart "If you want the number change request to be processed, kindly disconnect the call and if you want it to stop, share the OTP" this could trap a lot of people I believe

Since most of the transactions are Electricity bill payment related, customer account number shall be visible in your Simpl account.

I would suggest you to email to the customer care of each Electricity board, requesting to share address and regd mobile number of the Owner, to assist the police in investigating the fraud. Any refusal on your part to share the details shall be deemed to be assisting the fraudsters. Better send a cybercell online FIR along with the email.

But shouldn't we tag simpl higher authorities on twitter so that they can atleast start taking it seriously??

Even for the credit cards i m enabling online transaction only when i m about to use (a bit inconvenient but best way )

Hello i recieved a call from simpl pay customercare she was saying that they will investigate and can reverse the transaction. Can this be possible as most transaction were from bharatbillpay
