All fake bills were adjusted by Simpl.
I am not receiving any IC SMS in my Vi nos. for over a month other than those from Vi so not fussed about my Simpl accs. Heck in one no. even after recharging no SMS is delivered although OG SMS works.
Very sorry to your loss and thank you for spreading awareness about this fraud. Raised delete request with Simpl, after couple of hours got call from them, they trying to convince me to continue. But I insisted on closing account.
@Deals_Cracker any progress in your case? One victim received complete refund of Rs. 21790 in his bank account through Phonepay for fraudulent LPG bill payments directly from fraudsters😝. Also got a call from 9002949494 for withdrawing complaint and tweet on Twitter
No but I have Recieved a reply from CTO of simpl puneet singh " We are working with authorities and have provided them all the fake IVR numbers. We are canceling the transactions and will not bill the customers for any fraud transactions."
Reduced Simpl limit from 25k to 2k
The number that I received call from is verified on WhatsApp as Simpl. Also I received Diwali offers from it few months back. So how is this fraud working?
The fraudsters have actually not made any IVR call from a mobile number. They have spoofed customer care numbers of reputed and matching companies or random mobile numbers to confuse and generated calls from computer.
I received IVR call from 7977912345 which turns out to be official customer care of Reliance Digital. Some one reported another IVR Caller ID as 9686645189 which is the customer care of Simple Energy Electric Vehicles selling company.
All fake transactions?
Still many otps are coming.. better to close simpl account to become safe from future fraud.
Deleted all accounts with Simpl. I don't want any hassales of chasing customer care

there is no option on simpl without registration. i didnt even register on simpl.

Bumping up this old thread. Lot of people are reporting similar in twitter today and I am one of the victim today.
Strangely I have received IVR call from my own number which said that "An unauthorized transaction is detected on my Simpl account and it told me to select option1 if I want to block the transaction and after selecting 1, it told me to enter OTP. This is how I am scammed. Receiving IVR from my own number is a first time experience for me and I have never heard about such scam earlier. Any experts who can explain technically how someone can get IVR call from his own number and get scammed ?
The fraud transaction has happened on an app called Healthmug using my simpl pay account for an amount of Rs.23598. I have been using simpl pay from 2017 and this is first time facing such fraudulent transaction with my account.
I just wanted to alert all the dimers of this new type of scam (getting IVR call from own number). I have already filed complaint with simpl pay and register cyber crime complaint online. Hoping for refund. Looking forward to Dimers expert help to go through all the means to get the refund.
I have already closed my simpl account 6 months ago after reading this topic. Valuable information, it gives to everyone. So you have to take quick action. Don't wait for crime to happen.

Got at least 10 calls from this number - 98494 87079 saying that I requested a number change on my simpl account and it was an automated call, and they were trying to impersonate that they are from simpl. The call said that "you requested a number change, if you want the number to change please disconnect the call, if you did not do the request please share the 4 digit otp, when I chose the latter, I pressed 1, I got the 4 digit otp" and from history we have always learnt not to share the otp. so I disconnected the call, it was very smart of them. but they kept pestering me every 2 mins with the same thing
This is why I don't use new apps and upi even with all the lucrative cashbacks back them.
I would rather use my debit card, netbanking and good ol' cash on delivery.
