There are many who offer recharges/bill payments at a discount on TG & WA groups, i feel these account holders are victims too. Talking to them might not be of much help.

Company/system will always know when any txn is authenticated via otp so even if he says otp is not shared over call then it means op is claiming his mobile/email was hacked.

The consumer address appears to be from the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai. Here most consumers go to cyber cafe or nearby recharge shops for their bill payments. But making a phone call to the Electricity consumer directly may give an idea of the source of the fraud. It's also important not to spare the beneficiaries of fraud. OP should name the consumer also in his FIR

My request is also pending. They told me to wait for 12 hrs for complete deletion of the account

They didn't delete mine, I had raised through in-app chat. Got an email with ticket no and later they replied that they can't help via email, I gotta ask them on chat.

Edit: Now received another email for feedback. 🤣 Man I need such confidence in my life!

Raised a request at 12.33 pm. Got another email at 12.40 pm for request raised and final email at 3.54 pm for account deactivated. Took mere 3.5 hours to get it closed. Now mailed them to issue NOC. @Tejaa

Exactly these people can't even make this in their app to de link 3rd party apps. Several options are greyed out and it says it will be delinked from 3rd party app but 3rd party apps don't have any such option.

Their response:-Please note that we have processed your request and your account will be deactivated in the next 24 hours. 
PS- Deleting your account is an irreversible action. Once your account is deleted we will not be able to re-activate the account.

Got reply that, " Simpl does not provide NOC, however you can consider this email as NOC". Now, if something goes wrong, they can't blame me. 😊 @Tejaa @anantnitish

Technically & legally, Simpl can delete accounts but looks like they don't wanna do it (Maybe it is good to keep transaction record for sometime). RBI/Income tax rules prohibit account deletions for financial instituions but simpl is neither RBI regulated entity or got partnership with any bank or NBFC which is one.

Loan entry will remain in cibil with status closed forever. Same with any closed credit card, it will forever remain in cibil with card acc status closed. Maybe it will be removed after 10-15 years but not sure.

They will put borrow account on hold and issue NOC (Waiting for it), and Will be closed in CIBIL later. You can request for Complete deletion of account including Slice mini, upi and borrow as well. Card works for slice mini after closing slice borrow.

Sorry by "delete" I meant deactivation of their paylater service.

It is definitely Simpl account hacking in an organized and automated manner, fully through IVR calls.

Yes, reverse of electricity bill payment is possible. Few months back my Amazon account was hacked anyhow through 2 step verification was activated. My Wallet balance was 20k. And hackers did electricity bill payment of 19k approx. I contacted customer care of Amazon. They were too much responsive and serious about my issue. I received the full amount back within 24 hours and they said me that their backend team will recover the amount.

This is why I don't use new apps and upi even with all the lucrative cashbacks back them.

I would rather use my debit card, netbanking and good ol' cash on delivery.
