Got at least 10 calls from this number - 98494 87079 saying that I requested a number change on my simpl account and it was an automated call, and they were trying to impersonate that they are from simpl. The call said that "you requested a number change, if you want the number to change please disconnect the call, if you did not do the request please share the 4 digit otp, when I chose the latter, I pressed 1, I got the 4 digit otp" and from history we have always learnt not to share the otp. so I disconnected the call, it was very smart of them. but they kept pestering me every 2 mins with the same thing

This is why I don't use new apps and upi even with all the lucrative cashbacks back them.

I would rather use my debit card, netbanking and good ol' cash on delivery.

Yes, reverse of electricity bill payment is possible. Few months back my Amazon account was hacked anyhow through 2 step verification was activated. My Wallet balance was 20k. And hackers did electricity bill payment of 19k approx. I contacted customer care of Amazon. They were too much responsive and serious about my issue. I received the full amount back within 24 hours and they said me that their backend team will recover the amount.

I have compained with electricity boards with the bill pdfs and screenshots of fraudlent transactions, also shared the same with simpl on twitter as well on email. Let see if they reverse. I dont want to thing about it again and again as its makes my mood off.

My amazon account was also hacked few months back. There was 2000 rs. in it. Hacker enabled 2step verification, changed email id and phone number too. He purchased steam gift card with that money. After regular follow up with Amazon, I was able to get my account back. From then, i enabled 2 step verification and secured my account.

The thing is, I never shared any otp or anything with anyone. And hacker just hacked like amazon is nothing...

Compromise of hard passwords is also possible if you save it accidentally in your browser for frequent logins / if your e-mail password is compromised allowing access to your chrome browser saved details / if you use same password for certain weak (unsecured) sites which can easily be hacked and same email, mobile number, passwords attempted for login to famous Apps

Nice one that is why do not use same password everywhere better to forget the password than allowing someone else access anyone with access to mail can easily get in amazon pay later that is also a loophole

I never thought any thing like that could happen. This is next level of scam. Lodge an FIR and report this to RBI.

Raised a closure request just now. Closed Slice borrow three days ago, Slice mini is still active. Now, focusing only on credit cards.

Can we close slice borrow alone with slice mini active?

Do you mind sharing the process for the same?

Simpl is not a new thing. Financial products required due diligence. For someone's bad experience others should not stop using them.

Why would anyone pay random persons bills. Paying bill and getting amount in some other form is still stupid.

Go to settings, delete account. Slice borrow will put on hold. Steps told by Customer Support.
They will raise a ticket and issue NOC later and will be closed in CIBIL after 45 days.

There are hackers out there who does some lame shit just to get kick out of it. They just do because they can. May be the hacker does it for someone else at discounts like a recharge shop who does billpays, insurance premium etc without revealing himself. The last thing I wanna know that this "hacker" doing his own mobile recharge or billpay.

Guys if your usage is less you can request and reduce the credit limit I have reduced 25k to 2k my simpl limit by requesting cs Team

I hardly use this app for bb instant and magicpin purchase 2k was sufficient to avoid risk it's better we reduce the limit as they don't have option to set the transaction limit

I am a part of a few deals and offers groups on whatsapp. A few weeks back, someone was selling electricity bill payments at 15% off, no upper limit. I asked the guy what is the source, he said that there is a coupon bug in a website he is using.

I am pretty sure he is reselling after taking his cut.

Now, when someone is selling at 10-15% off people we assume it to be legal. Whereas, if someone sells at 50% discount then we will definitely doubt that. In my case, "no upper limit" raised the suspicions.

Anyway, hackers use a network of people giving them 30-40% and the resellers mindlessly sell recharges to random people. Although a trail is being created but hackers probably use a fake/stolen number to connect with these resellers as well and we wouldn't want any police trouble. So maybe its better to stay away from such people too.
