In case you aren’t aware Airtel has blocked off every avenue of using main balance for activating any pack other than the 99 one (seemingly circle specific and user specific, doesn’t work in my nos. ) since almost a year now. No other operator does this. Although in Vi 99 pack can’t be activated from balance. One dimer from KA circle confirmed that he can send SMS in the abovementioned pack by recharging with Rs 10/20 etc. topups. I am yet to try it. In Vi 129 is the lowest recharge for sending SMS but only valid for 18 days.

Recharged vi ₹20, not able to send message. Looks like porting to Airtel is the only option. Even PORT message isn’t working 😞

Maybe some issue with the SMSC (SMS Centre ) config. It’s not an infrequent issue in my Vi nos. PORT SMS can be sent in the 99 pack. In fact even when Vi credits freebies for 2/3/7 days etc. Officially PORT SMS can also be sent in the 79 pack which is only available in a few circles and is also user specific apparently.

i don’t have any active recharge with validity. I am sending port MSG from main balance 🙂

You must have OG active to send PORT SMS. Even during the freebie period only PORT SMS and no other type can be sent. Same is true nowadays of the two nos. in which OG calls continues to be active despite years of no recharge.
