something fishy

Most likely scam or some marketing call. Once sbi card agent called me for limit increase over phone for which he just asked by basic personal details like DOB & Mother’s name which is anyway required at any official customer care call for verification before doing anything important.

There should be varified numbers..if officials.. like qhen hedfc call my truecalled mark in green instead red for spam.. for that number it was neither red nor green.. i diaconnect in fear.. alreddy my fast tag thing going on fraud..

But what information is enough to steal my card? I must know if anyone try trick me.. otp cvv i know.. what else? Like mother name dob expiry date? They can also be with risk

Report it to customer care and get clarification. Also you can check what parameters are required to change password option.

Definitely fraud. No bank calls you to ask you to redeem your reward points. Even if they call, all they will ask is your consent, not card details. Most banks don’t want you to redeem reward points, especially those which have expiry date on reward points. Wouldn’t it be in their favor only if you forget and your reward points lapse. 😂

So in this case of yours, chances are they already have your card number and only need other details including otp. If you give them, boom, transaction is done.

And in case you have a doubt, give them some wrong expiry date. If they’re genuine and only verifying, chances of which are anyway zero, they’ll tell you that the date is wrong.
