Spicejet debited my cc but transaction failed but it has been more than a month with no help

So I was booking Flight tickets from Belgaum to Bombay for 2 passengers using my apay icici card on spicejet official website.

While booking the flight the transaction failed and amt of 11,996 was debited from my acc.

Contacted spicejet on calland they asked me to wait for a few days for a refund.

The next day I booked the flight again using apay card on amazon for the same flight and it went through but amount for original booking isn’t refunded even after a month .

I have sent spicejet multiple emails and they keep saying they are waiting for a reply from their finance team for the same.

I have raised a chargeback request on my icici card and seem to have gotten the interim chargeback amount. I was told final resolution will be provided after 40 days.

What are the odds of the chargeback being declared in my favour? Because unfortunately I don’t have the transaction failed message but I have the successful transaction email from Icici.

Chargeback request will go through and You will get the amount back in your account but it might take some time. Just make sure that you have the reference id for both the transactions. The bank might ask for it in very rare scenarios or in case you need to raise it again.

You can call customer care to check if they have any update.

Unfortunately I don’t have the transaction failure ref ID. The page refreshed before I could get a screenshot on my pc

No worries on that as in the worst case scenario. You can get it by calling the customer care. They can easily provide it to you. In 99% of the cases it is not needed.

I was once asked for the transaction Id as I did 3 transaction on the same merchant on the same day. First 2 transactions failed while the third one went through. I had received the refund for only one failed transaction and the customer care asked for transaction Id when raising the request. I told them it would be one of the first two and they were able to get it themself.

I would say - you are fortunate that failed transactions happened and no refund done even after 30 days.
If you have mail complaint with you, please register a complaint with RBI and you will get Rs 100 per day as compensation biggrin

The transaction failed on Spicrjet portal but I have mail confirmation of successfull transaction from ICICI. They are clearly saying that the transaction was successful from their end. Spicejet however refuses to share the status and has kept me on hold since a month.

“Greetings from SpiceJet!

Yes, if you can email them tell her that this is pending from a long time but no update from your end. I've escalated this. PG portal will surely resolve in the next few days.

Yes I’ve replied asking about the actual deadline. Will never book through spicejet official website. Worst exp ever in terms of refunds.

Don't know how DGCA are still allowing them to operate dizzy_face cold_sweat
If you would have used 3rd party portals like mmt,ct etc you would have got better resolution and better discounts too...
