This is such delightful news for backpackers and weekend travelers! The more countries available without the hassle of visa applications, the better for young Indian tourists.
It would be great if they could implement a passenger and vehicle ferry service from Rameswaram for transporting vehicles across the Palk strait. The current system of shipping vehicles from Kolkata to Sri Lanka is a headache and time-consuming.
Sri Lanka can issue temporary permits for Indian vehicles on entry, which would make it easier for travelers. It’s frustrating to visit a neighboring country and have to spend exorbitant taxi fares when you own a vehicle.
I wish something like this will be implemented soon.
