Hi,went to Starbucks IBC Surat cafe,there they denied taking payment via UPI Rupay credit card,saying it's very crowded and upi server is down,today there was ongoing offer for cashback on payment through UPI Rupay credit card which I was not avail due to non acceptance of UPI payment at store.
Have wrote to Starbucks on twitter waiting for reply
everywhere its working fine, how come server is down for Surat outlet only?
probably some trick of manager to fool ppl so that they don't utilize the offer and are forced to shell out more money

I don't think it goes from the manager's pocket .
But if he is deliberately denying then he is not alone too. I have received this treatment from various offline brands whenever I visit with some offer or discount

Starbucks UPI QR is also available through POS machine.
Tell them to choose ewallet/UPI option on POS machine and then generate UPI QR and then scan and pay.
By the way UPI Server never down.
NPCI running 3 parallel servers from different locations. If one goes down another one take its place.

Ya its possible, Starbucks acquirer bank's server may be down, but if it happens, card transactions will also be down because all transactions are handle by same acquirer bank.
