Lloyd ac is good with copper condensor. Suggested by ac service senior guy. Also he suggested not to buy inverter ac.It cannot be mostly repaired by local shops and parts are very expensive.

Go for either VOLTAS or Haier AC… the ac must be inverter AC and ask for copper one!! And you are all set!!

Going by earlier comments, for domestic usage a 3ton inverter model is good enough isn’t it? The AC will mostly be used for 4 to 6 hours per day and may be an hour or so more during peak summer 1 month period.

I need an AC that’s power efficient as well as being worth the money. Also one that produces as less noise as possible. What are your suggestions guys?

I currently have an LG AC in my room which is almost 10 years old now and reached it’s end of cycle. Need a replacement and looking for a good reliable AC that runs for at least 7 years without too many issues.

Finalised an purchased a 1.5 ton LG 4 Star rated inverter AC in offline market. I realised that offline market price is cheaper than online plus added benefit of free installation as well!

Reason for opting LG – already have one in my room since 8 years and it was great! Had the lowest rated noise levels (not sure if it translates to the same while I actually use it), seen a demo as well in showroom but in that noisy condition it obviously was quite silent. Has a special coating on condenser system to prevent erosion (sales guy said even copper gets corrosion over time if humidity is high toungueout).
Another reason was in-built system that shows probably issue with AC, kind of helps to safe guard against false billings done by technicians. Especially when they try to claim that there isn’t enough gas in outdoor unit and it needs a gas top up. This AC seems to have some kind of system that indicates error on companion app in case of any.

Flipkart has exchange offer offering 5k for my current AC but I need to pay 1.5k extra for installation and also 1k for dismantling existing AC. I called someone from OLX and he is willing to pay me 2.5k for my existing AC and he will dismantle and carry it away. Overall, offline market seemed to have offered a much better deal for me.

Price
Offline price – Rs. 37400
Online price – unable to find similar model, this seems to be 2020 launch (very recent). Nearest comparable is 4 star 1.5 ton with hot and cold option costing 43k on Flipkart

Installation
Offline – Free
Online – Rs. 1000 on amazon, Rs. 1500 on Flipkart with few offering for Rs. 500

Dismantling old AC
Offline – free
Online – Rs. 1000

Added bonus.
Opted for Bajaj Finance no cost 8 month EMI (there is no interest component or GST). The EMIs exactly equal to final product price/8 (8 month EMI).
As an offer they are providing these after 3rd EMI payment – Rs. 500 cash back into Bajaj Finance Wallet, Rs. 1000 OLA credits voucher, Rs. 1000 DTH recharge voucher and Rs. 1000 mobile recharge voucher. So benefits worth Rs. 3500! Not entirely sure about the usage terms but something is better than nothing toungueout

Effectively, it proved to be lot more beneficial opting for one in offline market.

Other prices enquired. Might have reduced around 500 to 1000 at max on this price. For the model I opted for when I spoke to manager he finally reduced 500 on the price i negotiated with sales person and made it Rs. 37400.

LG 5 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 43000
Samsung 5 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 40000
Samsung 3 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 36000
Voltas 5 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – RS. 40000
Voltas 3 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 34000
Daikin 5 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 43000
Daikin 3 star 1.5 ton inverter ac – Rs. 37000

Is it local offline store or some branded store like chroma or reliance digital?

@raghupro lg’s ac are dual inverter not just inverter. Not sure if your model has it or not. Lg gives a gold coating on copper condenser pipes which prevents corrosion.

Good choice.

Thank you.

Yup, it is a dual inverter model but I have no clue what it implies smile

On thing I remember is that it has the feasibility to operate at four different tonnage levels depending on requirement unlike other models that are generally restricted to 2 I guess. The lowest it can go to 0.6 tons that consumes 1/4th power of max usage.

Update on my LG AC. Been using it for a while each day over one week now. The AC is bloody silent, in fact none of the ACs in our home are this silent.

Can be controlled at 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of its capacity. As it’s still not that hot, I am setting the AC at 40% capacity and 26 degrees, it still cools my bedroom of 18’ * 13’ feet quite well.

Totally recommend this AC if someone is looking for a good model. This is the 2020 series 1.5 Ton, 4 star, LG 4in1 inverter AC.

Update on my LG AC purchase.

My previous post about what options i considered and why I chose LG.
https://www.desidime.com/discussions/suggest-an...

I purchased a 4 star, 2020 model, dual inverter AC by LG from a local store, Bajaj Electronics, in February 2020. At the time of purchasing I was informed about some cash back vouchers from Bajaj Finance which was also providing 0% and 0 downpayment EMI scheme. No additional GST on interest nothing.

I was initially skeptical about such offer and I was having ready cash to purchase the AC but eventually opted for it and took a chance.

The offer said I would get vouchers worth Rs. 500 as direct cash back to be claimed in wallet without any purchase, Rs. 1000 for OLA, Rs. 1000 for DTH recharge and Rs. 1000 for mobile recharge. No further terms on minimum transaction about or anything. These were to be claimed from Bajaj Finserv Wallet which is run by Mobikwik. These would be shared after paying 3rd EMI.

I made my 3rd EMI payment this month and received the vouchers. The only change was that instead of OLA voucher they gave me Rs. 1000 cash back voucher on electricity bill payment. Claimed all 4 vouchers successfully and received Rs. 3500 cash back to my wallet which in turn used to pay my credit card bill without any further charges. So effectively Rs. 3500 discount on my AC purchase. Super happy about it!

Final cost: Rs. 37400 for AC, Rs. 1950 for installation (2 meters extra copper pipe + 2 meters extra power cable + angular bracket fixing, all these were not include in free installation) – Rs. 3500 cash back = Rs. 35850 all inclusive.

If anyone is able to avail Bajaj Finance offer in local stores do go for it. The offer is genuine and seamless to avail.

LG acs are good, go for any 2020 model and not below that, also check the room size first , minus the furniture, and then think of buying the right size.

I needed an additional AC for a room.. went with Amazon basics 5 * 1.5 ton inverter. Installation was a bit problematic, schedule not honoured, rest its a good economical AC at that price point.

I am more accustomed to Daikin & carrier, but this was really good at half the price.

Link: amazon.in/gp/product/B07L44L1GP/
I paid 28.5k for AC and 1.6K for installation. 1K additional for some extra pipings and brackets if I remember correctly.
Using it for 3 months now.
