Hi All,

Need a bike for daily office commute. Please Suggest –

Things to Note :

1.The road is not good, semi full of potholes & mud

2.I am a first time rider.So 110CC or 125CC is fine

3. the commute is about 9 km.repair garages almost non existent.need something reliable.

4.Every one is suggesting a Honda.Even the bike I am sharing my rides in, is a Honda Shine

What do you guys think?

@kipte.khoka go for honda shine, CD110 Dream or hero splender.
My personal choice is honda CD110 Dream.

Bro, as the road way is not so smooth, i suggest a gearless bike for you, as you may strain yourself during the ride handling the clutch, gears breaks all together.

Honda Shine is a good option. Opt for tubeless tyres & front disc brake, as the road conditions are not good.
Non-geared ones might appear comfortable & handy for small rides, but might be a pain for occasional longer rides. Due to bad roads, they will need frequent maintenance, as ground clearance will be less.

From my personal experience, I would request you to avoid Jupiter, if you are looking for a fuel efficient vehicle. My 8 yrs old Honda Unicorn has an average of 45-50 kmpl, whereas a new Jupiter is giving an average of less than 40kmpl.

Not looking at scooters at all, thanks. One of my colleagues has crashed his Hero scooter thrice due to bad road conditions, in the last eight months

Cheaper the bike, cheaper the maintenance.

Buy a gear bicycle or CD100. Low purchase value, low insurance, higher fuel efficiency, lowest maintenance.
