Instead of buying specific medicines, find the generic medicine name & buy it for the very cheapest price.
The government provides medicines with the generic name.
Previously, I was ordering 2k medicines per month for my home but with generic name, the cost reduced to 200.

If you dont mind, can you share the names of branded medicines and then generic medicines you shifted to?
And were the generic medicines equally effective?
Asking only for my own research purpose. 2000 to 200 is 90% savings.

i will not suggest to use cheap genric brands ... as they have no quality control .
better switch to cheaper / good brands like -

While I have not heard or read about how effective (or harmful) the generic medicines are, I follow and also suggest the same - use less costly branded medicines from well known pharmaceutical companies. I have observed this very extensively. Almost every category of medicine has a wide range of prices across manufacturers - biggies like Sun, Cipla, Lupin, Dr Reddy's, Biocon etc, or medium companies, or small obscure ones. And the surprising thing is that there is no direct price vs size formula, i.e. cheaper medicines don't come only from the biggies or only from the small companies. Some medicines are costlier here and cheaper there, while some others are costlier there and cheaper here. In other words, you'll always get one brand of your required medicine from one of the reputed companies you trust at an affordable price. For your second medicine, you'll find one cheap brand from another trusted company. From your prescription of branded meds, find their alternatives made by trusted companies, compare the prices, then select the best combination of company & price.
In Chennai i used to buy from medplus pharmacy. They offer a flat 20% offer on all medicines.
