Suggestion for car vaccum cleaner

First things first, those in 1500 range does a very basic job, but don’t last long. Most car vacs in market use substranded motors. Heck I noticed a quality motor inside kids toys than these so-called car vacs. They do a very basic job, but cannot pick sand kind of dust from mats/seats, or pet’s fur. For such things even a basic handheld manual duster will suffice.

About an year back, my friend dropped his car vac for some repair/fixing work at my place. I gave it a test after fixing and it did a decent job both in car and in home as well. It is cordless (read: has got sufficient battery backup) and is from Philips. I didn’t notice these kind of models in Indian market, and checked with him. Apparently it is brought from Europe.

But most of these even the reputed ones can only do a basic to normal job. You need to have the home vacs to get a deep(fine dust cleaning, fur etc)

Also bear in mind that if a vac is mentioned at 120W, and if it is operated on the car battery, it will consume 10A of current. It can quickly drain the battery if the engine is not ON. And the next thing to worry is 10A is too much of a current for those substranded vacs where they use a very long wire, God knows what kind of quality they use to fit in the budget. The wire can burn on a continuous usage of 10-15min.

The above numbers are merely for calculations, but in reality 120W power from a vac does a medio core job. More the merrier.
