Need to buy a oven toaster griller(otg). I already own a microwave without convection mode. So for baking purpose need a otg. Use will be occasional only. So any basic which does baking job perfectly. For 2-3 people. If anyone using or aware of any, at least possible cost?

Plus which converter to buy to connect it to the electricity switch? Usually microwaves and otg’s have a bigger plug.

Which one did you buy?

Did not bought any. But did some research before buying and decided to buy otg which come with fan and convection feature as will circulate the heat evenly and bake properly and perfectly. Will see in this prime sale, if any discount will be there on the said models.

If you buy 1000-1200 watt otg you can use 6amp socket which is normal plug.

Prefer to not use any converters with high power rated appliances. The home grade extension boxes available in the market usually do not support such high power. You will end up burning or tripping the fuse of extension box if you use without proper awareness. These appliances usually come with 15 Ampere current rated plug. The usual(small) one’s you see are 5A rated

Even i was not aware of this and bought whirlpool solo microwave with grill feature. Now it is of no use or very less use. Regretting to buy it.
1) Solo microwave— ReHeating of food. Cooking of food. Require compatible cookware to cook food. Doesn’t cook anywhere near to gas cooking or induction stove cooking. So i am not using it.
2) Microwave+ grill= same as above plus grill feature.
3) convection microwave= microwave work plus otg work too. It can cook and bake too. But will not give the pro result for baking like otg.
4) OTG= perfect for baking cakes, cookies, bread, pizza. Toasting breads, grilling non veg items and potato, eggplant . Can also make litti, baati, naan, kulcha etc too. This all can also be done in convection oven but will not give pro result and will cost more.
After getting microwave found i will need otg more than microwave. So decide accordingly. If you want to cook and bake, get a convection microwave. For only bake/toast/grill otg is best. Solo mw is big NO.

@Alexios Any inputs on the type of OTG to purchase? I’m looking for one with a fan for even distribution. I’m not sure if it matter for a smaller size otg. Any leads?

Yeah some models are there from Morphy Richards, prestige, American micronic, black & decker, Borosil, pigeon, Philips. Bajaj is good name in otg but sadly none of its model come with convection fan.
I am still looking for right Brand and model. That is why asked for any help here. But seem like none are using. @trickler

I believe fan option is generally available in models with bigger capacity.

Thank you! All this time, I mistook the convection option for something else

Amazon has very less options for convection fan otg. But Flipkart has more option. Will see in Flipkart if amazon does not have any good deal in prime day.

Smaller models like 16 ltr don’t have fan but still practical for 2-3 persons house hold.

23 ltrs is neither to big nor too small. Ideal for cakes and 4 persons house hold.

beyond that if you don’t cook commercial cakes for Christmas don’t buy that. 40 ltrs is waste of space, money and electricity since takes longer time to heat.

Look on olx for 23 ltrs. People buy and since they find it intimidating just pack and keep in cupbosrd

Yes above 30 litres is just waste of money. No one will be cooking and baking to do a party at home and that too frequently. Anything below 30 litres will be fine and Flipkart has options with that in small capacity also but amazon lacks such good options.

Go for any brand pick the convention fan one. Don’t worry about brands. In otg there are only two heating rods up and down. No rocket science involved.

Agree brands doesn’t matter in this as long as they are giving warranty and after sales service is good. Will be looking for convection fan with good number of service centres availability.

Making cake first time needs many things not easily found in house like electric beater, self rising flour, yeast, essense, food colour, mixing bowl, cake toppings, different sizes baking trays, parchment paper just to name few.

Using a tandoori rosette adapter is similar thing where marinating the chicken is a task so mostly people give up.

Thank u bro,

I think my family will use it for litti, some r&d in pizza/cake making and heating food only.

Now kindly help me between Convection microwave and otg because both looks similar feature.

Also as per thread i think we should go for 25 liter capacity.

If you are not gonna cook food in microwave, then go for otg for your requirement. If you are planning on occasionally cooking also. You can choose convection mw. If you are in dilemma what to choose, choose convection mw as it can do both work.

If anyone can stretch their budget go for the auto program microwave / convection /grill unit. 1 space saver unit and you are sorted out.

I put in all the mixed ingredients in a silicone mould and punch in then cake menu number and forget it.

I return for the ready cake after 20 minutes. No need of checking in between. the best is pizza where it uses all 3 modes for exact crisp base and jucy cheese, slightly burnt veggies exactly pizza like restaurants (cannot compare with domino’s)

I see, in my case the home ministry gave the complete list along with the OTG smile
