thanks for help sir. I have one question, as G.Skill is based in taiwan; do they have any service centers in India/Mumbai? as on Amazon, one customer had problem with it so he had to return it to Taiwan with extra courier charges? (ref : https://www.amazon.in/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-260-Pin-S...)
Also can you suggest me any other model if possible (both in 4 GB and 8 GB)….
TIA

Crucial service is handled by kaizen in India(same one who handles corsair rma in India):

@rcduke prefer ram with local service centres, better in long term especially considering long warranty & possibility of you moving to another city in future.
Thanks for the tag but i don’t use laptops bruv. I hope you get yours answers from the more experienced members here. Good luck.
Go for Crucial 2400 Mhz. I am using a 16GB module alongwith with 4GB soldered. Only 8GB will operate in dual channel 128-bit mode, rest 12GB in single channel 64-bit mode. Not that it matters a lot except in some fringe situations like WinRAR etc. For integrated graphics it will have an impact though.
Upgrade to 12GB for a stress-free experience for years to come.
My laptop, also an Acer, came with 8GB which was inadequate even in 2018. Chrome is a RAM-guzzler worsened by Windows 10. Now I can have multiple Windows/Linux VMs running in background and Chrome and/or Firefox with dozens of tabs. I haven’t come across a single tab reload in well over a year now.
RAM prices follow a periodical boom-bust cycle. Still in the bust phase so hoard as much RAM as possible.
Do check if the actual max. RAM supported is 16GB or not. Manufacturers come up with innovative ways to hamstrung upgrades.
If laptop supports dual channel ram
Get 2×4gb ram
That’s enought ram
Don’t go for seller warranty ram mostly these are pulled out or refurbished ram…
Better go with manufacturer warranty
You don’t need to a ram upgrade.
You need a windows 10 reinstall. .
Ram with the laptop is good enough. Adding extra will not help unless you are running some apps which needs it but again you are using a 2nd gen i5 cannot expect more from the processor even if you add more ram.
It is 2nd gen ryzen 5 which is equivalent to 8th gen i5.
Bhai along with the Crucial 2400 MHz, consider an SSD too if it’s not there already. 🙂🙂🙂
yes, planning for WD blue 120 GB m.2 SSD one…
Go with single stick 8 GB upgrade, if you have the cash, go with 16GB and only buy SODIMM, this is for Laptops, if you’re looking at using Windows, 4GB is sufficient if you want to run Linux on it. SSD also is a good recommendation, does have a significant impact.

The 4GB Sticks @ ~2k..doesn’t seem to look like value-for-money type
